Ramadan Kareem to all our AmCham Dubai members and friends! As we near the end of the holy month, we take this opportunity to welcome the Year of Sustainability. President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan recently announced that 2023 will be the "Year of Sustainability" with the theme "Today for Tomorrow".

At AmCham Dubai, we are proud to join this collaborative effort through our Sustainability committee

Through all of our efforts, the year will showcase the UAE's commitment to fostering a global collaboration in seeking innovative solutions to challenges, such as energy and climate change "Today for Tomorrow" embodies the UAE's approach and commitment to sustainability and its responsibility to protect the future By working, making efforts, and initiating actions today, we are ensuring that we leave behind a legacy of stewardship for future generations This has particular significance as the UAE prepares to host the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28) in 2023

At AmCham Dubai, we believe that sustainability is a journey, not a destination. Our Sustainability committee is dedicated to promoting sustainability through education, advocacy, and collaboration We are proud of our efforts and are committed to continuing to promote sustainable practices within our organization and across the wider business community

As the first quarter of the year comes to a close, it's important to reflect on the progress that has been made within our committee work

We've seen a renewed engagement and a surge in activity and participation, which is a testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved I would like to take a moment to recognize the new partnership of our General Secretariat, APCO Worldwide, who will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our six AmCham Dubai Committees With their support, we will stay on track with meeting minutes, deliverables, and overall project tracking using the RACI logic of Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed

If you're not already involved, now is the perfect opportunity to make a difference and get involved in one of our six committees across a range of industry sectors Don't hesitate to reach out to us to discuss ways to engage and make a meaningful impact.

To our board of directors and our members, in my new role as CEO, I am thrilled to continue building positive trade relations between the UAE and the USA. My commitment is unwavering and I am so excited to grow with the organization Thank you for your trust in me.
