This plan shows the main activities in the proposed masterplan and their geographical location.

RIYADH REGION

The project site is located in Riyadh at the Diplomatic Quarter (DQ) with a proposed expansion area to the South of the DQ. The site lies to the West of Central Riyadh and is located at the periphery of the Wadi Hanifah Metropolitan Zone. The site is easily accessible via King Khalid Road for the DQ and Jeddah Road for the expansion area.

The Diplomatic Quarter plays a unique role in metropolitan Riyadh, as it accommodates the ambassadorial community which lends it a distinct profile with an inter national and political significance.

The DQ site is accessible via King Khalid road, and the expansion site via Jeddah road. The closest metro station is 1.6 km away from the DQ site via Line 2 , and 3.5 km away from the expansion site via Line 3.

TOPOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS

A topographically dynamic site with residential areas, parks, and private agricultural farms, the site is significantly shaped by both Wadi systems and its resulting escarpment.

The project site enjoys dramatic topography, with the wadi being at the lowest elevation and the highlands around it offering attractive viewpoints of the site.

The site has steep slopes created by the main wadi and sub wadi penetrations. Steep slopes are defined as lands in their natural state that have a slope angle of 20 % or greater (for a minimum horizontal distance of 10 meters).

DIVERSITY OF URBAN SPACES

The following plan shows the types of the public realm elements which are divided into natural elements such as the existing natural terrain and the low land parks and unnatural elements the green network paths and the green parks and the promenade.

PLANNING STRATEGIES

PHASING PLAN

The division of the project areas into 8 phases according to the importance and priorities of implementation, for example, phase 1 is an extension of DQ and consists of parks, educational services and some office areas and the start of the first phase of the construction works for the lake, and phase 2 developing the marina zone and the commercial and recreational uses around it, hotels, and the start of filling the first phase of the lake, and thus the first and second phases are integrated in terms of land uses.

LAND USE PLAN

One of the guiding principles of the plan is a diversity of land uses. Residential land use is in close proximity to retail, office, medical, hotel, mixed-use, and education. Having residential close to jobs, services, and entertainment helps limit vehicle miles traveled. The residential home types include apartments, villas, townhomes, garden homes, and luxury villas. And the diversity of land uses and the assets will result in a diverse array of Residents, workers and visitors that will create a dynamic community.

The land was reshaped to fit the final proposal of the masterplan. Where the development is more urban, the land was graded to ascend gradually touches the lake and creating urbanized and vibrant waterfront, the grading strategies preserved most of the natural escarpment edge.

LAND MODIFICATION THE GREAT LAKE INTEGRATION

When the lake is introduced, a new type of development will be realized depending on their geographical location and approximately to the lake. Creating the lake in the site will provide new and different experiences for Riyadh region in addition to the uniqw geography of the location.

The green network is a natural extension of the need to stitch various land of the site providing opportunity for sustainable and walkable development.

The road network pattern is designed to minimal of its impact and to be separate from the green network. Changing the Culture of Transportation to LOCAL ROADS through bringing public space into the roadways and showing connections between human to the built form and human to human interaction.

A low rise and human scale massing responds to adjacent context providing an organic integration to the landscape , green network and the lake.

GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION & CHARACTER

THE NORTH PROMENADE

This region is the urban center of the community. The waterfront development that is urban and accessible by the public. It was planned to be the center of the entertainment and retail for the development.

THE NORTH REGION

Basically, the entire area is located in north of Jeddah mecca highway. The region includes the existing DQ in higher land overlooking the low land north of wadi Hanifa dam. The development in this region integrates the existing DQ to the rest of the regions by grading the land on Faifa area to reach the level of the lowland. it will include major assets like the Boarding School and the School of Gov and Diplomacy and offices, this area also contains low land living areas and parks and natural living area.

THEME PARK DISTRICT

This basically a flat level related and integrated to Riyadh and adjacent communities the intermediate functions and more accessed by both water and land. the theme park is intended to attract families and provide destination for mix (culture, entertainment, and water sports).

LOWLAND LIVING

A residential community overlooking the lowland landscape and have access to the park in Northwest and integrated organically to both the geography and the existing communities.

LOWLAND ADVENTURE

The largest region of the development, yet less urbanized and characterized by the lowland adventure park which will be served by leisure and entertainment activities.

WELLNESS BAY

This region will have a minimum and controlled intervention in natural features of the site, providing a perfect escape for residents and visitors from urbanization and to enjoy the natural scene of the lake and escarpment.

THE OASIS

Mixed use development, a new humanized space in Buraydah, Saudi

The oasis development is envisioned as a regional tourist destination that will further qasim’s reputation as one of the most desirable and exciting cities in KSA. Poised as a landmark game-changing project, the oasis development district will re-imagine how buraydah grows in the future, providing a truly urban mixed-use, transit-oriented development, enhanced by an animated, walk-able public realm.

At a total build out of over half million square meters, oasis development will be comprised of five key uses: office, residential, hotel, retail and entertainment.

This balance of uses will ensure the master plan’s full utilization of the infrastructure as well as providing an onsite population to ensure 24 hour vitality. oasis development will seed the transformation of buraydah from a city of travellers .

The implementation of the built form is tested by applying the parameters of the master plan and proposed urban design guideline on the downtown district. The detailed diagrams (sective) shows the various experience with the multi-leveled public realm of downtown experience and the potentials of integrating multiple types of urban experience in our coherent urban system.

As well as it shows the pedestrian movement experience around the project using the covered roads and the smooth transition and access form buraydah downtown towards the traditional market. A major transportation node were demonstrated in this area which shows the drop off, dedicated bus rout & stops, service lane, structure parking entrance and exist, crossing area for pedestrian and pedestrian paths.

from the adjacent figure it is well demonstrated that the site has may opportunities which will be an added value to the site and will make it more attractive. to be developed for any investors. as shown the site is well connected with its context by the surrounding existing road network.

Moreover the site considered to be almost flat which will decrease the topographic works. as shown in the previous figures that the project context is very rich in terms of the public facilities.

it is noted that the site is having a potential of strong retail frontage sine there are many road crossing the site from he middle and passing the edges of the project

CIRCULATION STRATEGY

The land use in the ground floor varies in the dominate use based on where they located within the two plots of the project site boundary.The plot on the west side of King Salman road is more oriented towards more public and urban uses. This includes having majority of the retail of various types, the hotel, the exhibition, and entertainment. The hotel district is a combination of the 4-star hotel with a community of townhouses which can be managed as part of bigger hospitality functions of the hotel.

The retail typology varies based on their location and function. They also correspond to multiple end users based on the district they allocate in the retail facing the oasis will be dominantly all-fresco F&B with terraces fronting different experiences.

CIRCULATION STRATEGY

There are 4 modes of transportation of mobility system in the project including vehicular, public transportation, bicycle and pedestrian. The vehicular mode represented by primary road 24-meter row providing access to each district as constructed beneath the ground floor podium, the main function of the road is providing arrival to the car parking both surface and structure for both visitors and residents, in addition the road also offers opportunity for drivers to drop-off riders near by the landscape gates.

There are 2 types of vertical circulation: The elevators of the buildings from ground floor serving the buildings above the podium to be used by residents and workers and visitors of the retail and F&B and including the first floor too.

The project has mix of uses which has been distributed in a way which made the project themed into 4 main characters as explained in previous pages, So as shown in the adjacent figure the core of the project in the middle called Arar downtown will have many activities like hotel, offices, exhibitions center , R&D, mosque entertainments edutainments, etc.

All these use will make the area a very active area and will be congested by people who comes for different activity, accordingly these people will need an open space to enjoy & meet which will be in the core of this area and will make the area more connected hugeness and will served from the Responding to the surrounding land uses, the residential land use were proposed in the eastern and northern side with a different typologies, the northern side will have a mix of town-houses types such as town house with 30m width, 18 width 19 width & etc.

OPEN SPACE STRATEGY

The main space provides various experiences depending on the adjacent activities from each building creating opportunities of accesses, picnicking, cycling, farming, and enjoying the water features in the middle of this main space.

the main space is linked to the parkette which play a role of linking the shopping district to the main space. As well as the parkette will be as a pocket parks which will serve the residential blocks.

The plaza has been proposed in the areas which are having more activities and might be an area of festivals.

CIRCULATION STRATEGY

There are 3 modes of transportation of mobility system in the project including vehicular transportation, bicycle and pedestrian.

The vehicular mode represented by primary road 24-meter row providing access to the project from King Khaled Road from the western and southern side this road will have access to the car parking areas both structural and surface parking.

It has other types of vehicular circulation which are serving the residential access and providing a direct access to each residential plot

Divide the project into 3 major phases; Phase 1 which initially covers the downtown area and main road of the project which is linking it to the outside roads, and Phase 2 which represents the built-up area on the western and southern side which will be purely retail and shopping area , the same will make the site more attractive and will lead to have a residential development with its community facility which will be phase 3.

SODIC SIGNATURE’S

Residential master plan, Cairo, Egypt

Sodic Signatures is one of the medium-sized sites near the Alexandria Desert Road. Its central location places it in the middle of the two fastest developing regions in Cairo: Sheikh Zayed City and the new Zayed city.

The Sodic Signatures site is in the center of the present and future city. It is equidistant from both the Alexandria desert road and Dabaa road to the major suburban Cairo zone and has been characterized by several factors and observations. Much of the surrounding development of near future will be around the ring road beside the north and west sides, making the urban environment feel suburban.

The project seeks to make use of secondary streets like the new ring road and encourages permeability and diverse movement options. This increases a sense of street life, community and place. Combined with climate controlled streets, Sodic Estates will be a Highclass destination and catered to the local community.

The vision of the project is to create a series of green areas and water bodies in application of the principles of environmental planning and various environmental factors. Preserving nature and achieving sustainable development in addition to achieving the desired investment and economic return, and by maximizing the role of water and green bodies in the project, several tourism and cultural activities and events are created that bring visitors and tourists a cultural, recreational and fun return, and from the other side return Residents of the city or region have to have many job opportunities and improve their social conditions.

It is certain that the project is not independent and does not achieve private or personal goals only, but the project falls within the general plan of the Tan an commune, and by taking into account this plan when designing the general plan of the project site, harmony is achieved between the urban, economic and social aspects in The project and its surroundings.

Developing the project site and enhancing the utilization of the waterfront on the Saigon River and good marketing of the project and its idea and considering it a new tourism nucleus in Saigon city, and through previous social and urban studies, it was noticed that the population of the area decreased, that is, it is one of the attractive areas for the population, which achieves the General objectives of the city by :

Accommodate the increasing population growth in Binh duong province. Create many job opportunities and reduce unemployment. Activating tourism in the region and introducing and developing the traditions and culture of the city and traditional crafts. Creating axes of roads linking the area with the surrounding area.

SITE SLOPE ANALYSIS

To determine the best way to deal with the project site and good planning in accordance with the nature and characteristics of the area, we analysed topography and slopes of he study area , programs (GIS –Google Earth - USGS) were used to access the DEM (digital elevation model) of the area and from it the site tendencies were deduced. Through this study, we noticed the semi-flat nature of the project land , as the maximum slope located within the site is only 6%, and therefore there are no obstacles or problems in settling the various types of land uses and various activities.

Cairo does not need another landmark or a blind imitation of one of the places which visitor can live on his own, but rather it needs a BREAK EMPTY SPACE through which Cairo can be considered a historical mural that tells us what happened through the surrounding buildings and give people the chance to communicate, interact and breath.

Perhaps what distinguishes the city of Cairo is the irregular urban, interconnected contact between its buildings and the lack of open and green spaces in it.

Indeed, Cairo will not find a better opportunity than this location to create it’s free space, free space is not just a pedestrian bridge. However, it is a case that can be applied in every crowded city. People of Cairo are always thirsty for open spaces where festivals, weddings, and occasion can take a place.

They do not need more closed or narrow places to visit. They already have many. They desperately need a quiet space that is far from the dispersion and congestion in Cairo.

Transforming the pedestrian bridge in this privileged location into an open space is what the dense city needs, which provides an opportunity to create new uses, functions, spaces and invite more users to communicate and share.

In addition to that, the tourist side of the city rich with landmarks and activities, the free space in this location allows users and visitors to get to know the city from a new angle and access many of its features.

Egyptians with different classes, religions, and ideas are well connected to the Nile; a living space in the middle of the Nile gives a million reasons for Egyptians to visit this space.

The Nile is the best witness to all those civilizations and the periods of time that passed through Cairo, it can be the source for documenting what happened in this place of civilizations, cultures and revolutions.

After many wars, conflicts and revolutions that have passed on - AL Medina - there had to be a way to overcome division and sectarianism and to promote the idea of difference and acceptance of the other regardless of race, color and religion.

AL Medina Colors Youth Center is inspired by the paintings of the city’s youth themselves, rich in different colors and delightful details that encourage creativity and distinction.

The different colors, lengths and architectural proportions of buildings establish in the minds of their users the idea of difference and acceptance of the other and enhance their ability to creativity and innovation. Considering the project is located in a unique spot in the middle of the city, The design respects the axes which define the new layer.

The city is unique due to its planning division and there are 80 sectors in this city, so this part of the city was considered not only a project, but in itself a complete district to extend the city.

With an emphasis on the relationship of the public market with the external yard and the addition of the circle element that integrates the public market and the internal market for youth with each other.

In addition to the open exhibition and gallery to provide the opportunity for youth to communicate with the society and express their opinions and skills.

All this makes AL Medina Colors Youth Center the vital piece of art that the city and its youth need, Sector 81.

The city is unique due to its planning division and there are 80 sectors in this city, so this part of the city was considered not only a project, but in itself a complete district to extend the city as the missing beautiful colorful sector.

To extend the current market in the city and to solve the overcrowding crisis, a covered ring was designed as a youth market to show their product and to continue the move-

ment of people in the market, where public meet youth and interact with each other.

The importance of colors is not only to stimulate youth to creativity and innovation, but also to spread the concept of acceptance of difference, freedom of expression and hope for the future after a long period of separation and struggle.

All this in order to create a more expressive image of the city and its living elements, in addition to creating a complete reflection of the identity of the city, its image and its picturesque nature on the glass blocks that visitors can see through the sea in a striking and clear way.

The choice of glass is not only attractive and reflective, but also to provide the largest possibility of vision from inside the buildings as it offers panoramic views of the sea, city, mountains and many stunning views.

The port in 2020 should not be limited to berth, services and the yacht club only, by adding new spaces and activities, the port can be transformed into an important landmark in the city, intended for residents and visitors alike.

The car parks and shops are covered with a large platform covered with green spaces that Provide places for residents and visitors to picnic. In addition to places for seating and Relaxation, an open theater for shows and activities overlooking the harbor and the sea,public swimming pools and water games, a bike track, a jogging track, a pedestrian path, foodKiosks and lots of open spaces versatile with lots of fun activities.

In addition to the three main buildings (a,b and c) that contain hotel, halls, yacht club, control tower, shops, restaurants and a lot of entertainment activities inside.

The roofs of the buildings have been used for more open spaces and seating views of the city and the harbor.

The general goal is to transform the port into a sociocultural Entertainment hub and create an architectural landmark that expresses the city and reflects its identity.

A facade of an office building is a good example to apply this type of dynamic facade, where the daylight, direct light and energy consumption need to be controlled.

Designed seven story office building with open working space to allow daylight to lighten the space and the amount can be controlled by the units on the facade.

Egyptian temple the concept was to search for an traditional building, study it and try to represent it in a modern way. The ancient Egyptian temple was the best choice, the great structure, the high columns order and grid, the strong access, landscape and its relation to the ancient Egyptian settlement. All was represented in the production of this project.

With the Egyptian futuristic vision, many new cities are built based on western style, in the new Cairo city pro posed a new stadium inspired by the original Egyptian temple with a wide area of landscape to simulate the ancient Egyptian garden on the sides of the Nile.

The project is located at Laguna di Orbetello, The lagoon is considered to be the most important in the Tyrrhenian sea. Because of its geographical location, WWF Oasis of Orbetello is considered a natural paradise for thousands of birds. With an idea inspired by photography, framing of the

scene allows the viewer to focus more on the elements in the picture, appreciate and reflect on them, by applying this idea to the architecture, a group of cabins was designed with different dimensions and spaces where it gives visitors completely different experience and a scene from what they see

in the rest. It helps to focus and meditate in a certain part of the big picture (nature).

Design strategy.

The cabins are designed to allow visitors and researchers to explore the charming landscape, not only for watching and contemplation, but also to allow them to have direct contact with nature thanks to the presence of foldable glass, which can be opened fully to allow the entry of natural ventilation and live birds and animals.

All cabins were raised on columns to allow wildlife to pass under them and to reduce their impact on nature. The structure of the cabins is built by the vernacular technique and the local material. As pine-wood is founded to be the most locally available material in the Oasis of Orbetello , as it is suitable for the surrounding.

In the fight for the protection of ecosystems there are no winners or losers. Yet, human beings seem to linger. While the delicate balances supporting this planet are eroding, anachronistic economic systems linger over reversing course of a race for a progress with no future and a wealth with no tomorrow.

In term of idea for the railway station, the basic concept to make the station collapse with the connection element, which is the title of the project will be the bridge, as a matter of fact, the idea of the project completely works as a pedestrian bridge.

An unimportant agglomerate of buildings until the 19th century, Sesto San Giovanni grew during the end of the 19th century and in the early 20th century, becoming the site of several industries, including companies such as Falck, Campari, Magneti Marelli and Breda.

The lounges are the souls of the house, including two circular open lounges in the outdoor areas. 1st lounge is open for guests and public uses. The 2nd lounge is the privet lounge for the family and privet uses. The main access is going through all the house from door to door passing by the two lounges.

The traditional partitions were removed to create a more fluid, circular flow around the house so that family member and guests can enjoy the entire space. The Saudi house has become one space, one family home. The aim and passion has always been around the design and construction of high end residential projects.

The main focus is to create a unique experience for the residents and provide the maximum utilization of space with respect to the local culture and natural environment. The goal is to achieve a harmonious atmosphere with a strategic rearrangement of geometric forms.

The choice of minimal design in combination with the manipulation of shapes and volumes create an ideal architectural experience. Minimal Order with a luxurious touch. A contemporary home, The use of glass throughout invites natural light into the home and merges the outdoor with the indoor space.

Those barriers have turned us all into individuals rather than human groups (society); groups who would seek to live together to face and overcome different problems, disasters and obstacles. Thus, in turn made each of us to think of himself instead of thinking about our humanity. Meanwhile, we lose a lot as time goes by, and we are still losing.

PARAMETRIC EQUATION

Two parametric curves played a role in Nostalgia pavilion, the rigid material (bricks layer) which starts from the entrance very heavy and near from the visitor’s head and going less direct to the main wall achieving the relationship between the second curve (Green layer) which gradually decreases by increasing the distance between the visitor head and the suspended brick in the ceiling

It is a state of reminiscent of the past, in which we lived together in sadness, joy, problems and respect as a group rather than building barriers which divide us day after day.

Egyptian nostalgia recalls the countryside. The Egyptian countryside is a simple picture of how the Egyptian man deals with his environment and those around him without any barriers that prevent him and his society to live with each other as one Egyptian society.
