Mahrganat Music is now dominating in Egypt. It resonates in the heart of the people. Therefore , the target of the design was this genre of music and musicians. Boulaque is one of the most dense local districts in Cairo where you can listen to Mahrganat all around the area. Boulaque bus station is where we designed a music and cultural hub for people of the district to share their knowledge and give chance for their beloved genre to be produced.

AZBAKEYA MARKET HALL Design Studio III Commercial Team members: AbdelRahman Ghoneim, Robert Ashraf,Youssef Rafik, Ranya Ay
AL-AZBAKEYA is an old historical district located in Downtown, Cairo, Egypt, where most of the city activities take place. The site is located next the existing book store in al opera square. The project scope was to make a market hall that serves the district with its surroundings neighborhoods. The site, being previously a park, is revived through the design by making a market hall with a roof garden that blends with the ground.

START UP COMMUNITY Design Studio IV Neighborhood Team members: AbdelRahman Ghoneim, Ali Gharieb
The population boom in Egypt creates an issue in providing social housing. Therefore, the government provides only a single model of social housing that is spreaded everywhere without considering the different needs of the people. The design aims of creating new housing typologies for low income people. The design proposes different types of houses for a work- live neighborhood and shows incremental possibilities for future development, all originating from a single unit typology.

RE-EXPLORING THE RIVER Design Studio V Urban Team members: AbdelRahman Ghoneim,Ranya Ayman, Reem Ahmed, Mai El-Shenawy
Cairo is one of the most densed city in the world. With a population of around 20 million people, it offers only little space for public activities. The design aims for developing strategies that would generate public life in Cairo and relate the public spaces with nature. To do this, our design uses the water as an element to rexplore the public urban life through reviving historing canals and the creation of new ones. Public Anchors were designed on the canals to be integrated with the strategy and work together as one thus, being hybrid.
