... From Abena UK Bambo and Bambo Nature Nappies will be thinner: The amount of SAP and fluff in Bambo and Bambo Nature Nappies will be changed from a 40/60 distribution to 50/50 from January 2013. This will make the baby nappy thinner and create a better fit, allowing the child more freedom of movement. The changed distribution of SAP and fluff will not have any influence on the absorbency in Bambo and Bambo Nature – the nappies will absorb the same amount of fluids as always! We will have further updates regarding improvements to our nappy range in the near future.

Introducing…The Zero Products “As Small As Possible, As Large As Necessary” We have recently introduced a lower absorbency to our Abri-Form Premium and Abri-Flex Premium ranges. Both products still have the same features and benefits as the other absorbencies in our Premium range such as a fully breathable back sheet, leakage barriers and wetness indicators. As with all the Abena Premium range these products also carry the Nordic Swan Eco Label. Traditionally, the Abri-Form product has a higher absorbency but the Abri-Form

Premium Zero is our lower absorbency and can be ideal for end-users that don’t require a high absorbency but are unable to cope with a 2 piece system. As with all pull-ups the absorbency is suitable for moderate incontinence but again the Abri-Flex Premium Zero could be an ideal option for an end-user that needs the reassurance of a pull-up product but doesn’t require a higher absorbency.

Focus on... Male Incontinence Although incontinence is more often associated with women approximately 1 in 9 men suffer with incontinence at some point in their life. The most common type of incontinence that men are diagnosed with is overflow incontinence which can be caused by an enlarged prostate gland. All men over the age of 40 will have an enlarged prostate gland which may lead to an incontinence problem. Some of the signs of an enlarged prostate are repeated urinary tract infections caused by the bladder not

emptying properly, emptying the bladder more than 7 times a day and having the sensation that the bladder hasn’t emptied properly. Dealing with incontinence can be very distressing and end-users should be encouraged to seek professional advice. However, even when undergoing treatment an i ncontinence product may be necessary to maintain the dignity of the end-user. Abena have a number of products that have been designed with men in mind.
