Outside of their medical career, they are an aspiring physician-artist, interested in exploring the crossroads of medicine, art, and humanities. During their undergraduate studies they founded tothe9s, McMaster’s only fashion club focusing on sustainability and self-expression, and played piano at the McMaster Children’s Hospital biweekly. In medical school, they became a freelance journalist writing for the CBC, Healthy Debate, and The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. They have been featured on the award-winning medical podcast, The Nocturnists, for their story “The Resident and the Rogue” after originally performing their work in Chicago, IL. In their free time, they picked up rollerblading, rock climbing and Dungeon & Dragons. During medical school, they saw 3 West End shows, 6 Broadway shows and numerous others in Toronto, Stratford, and Niagara-On-the-Lake. They continue to play piano, guitar, and the drums, and most recently DJ’d their birthday party. They’re very excited to be heading back to the West Coast and reconnecting with some of their best friends from high school.
