Marvelous Hobbies with Malcolm Kuzak: Grade 4 How to knit a washcloth This pattern is pretty easy for a beginner. There are two types of stitches and they are written K and P on a pattern. Knit if it’s a K and if it is a P it is a pearl the second kind of stitch. For a knit stitch you put the needles under the stitch. For a pearl you put them over. With just these basic stitches you could make practically anything you want - except for a car! When I was learning I practiced with my Auntie who is an amazing knitter, we were staying with her because of Covid. I liked it so I kept practicing. If you don’t know a knitter who can teach you, you could watch youtube. Do not watch a movie while you are knitting - you will make a mistake if you are distracted and you might wreck the whole thing. It takes a while to master, you might not master it at first, but if you keep trying you will get better. Story Time with Grace Donaldson, Grade 4 The Lost Kitten Riddle by Julia Thorne Grade 2 Once upon a time there were five kittens. One was named Rolo and the others were named Rinaldo, Max, Anastasia and Cloud. Rolo loved to eat a lot, he was always hungry even if just had second helpings of dinner. Rinaldo was very mischievous and always liked to play tricks on his fellow siblings. Max got distracted by the very smallest things, like if a butterfly fluttered past him he would chase after it. Anastasia was very smart and a little bossy but always tried to be in charge of her brothers and sister. Cloud was very shy and scared of everything. One day all of the kittens were playing outside in the sun until Max spotted a butterfly and chased it off into the woods. His other siblings did not notice because they were too busy playing their favourite game, except for Cloud because she was too scared of the ball to play. Their favourite game was hit the ball. They were having a great time until Anastasia said “this is unfair! Team puppy paws has more players on their team than team swat” “What? No i’m sure i counted right” Said Rinaldo “See there are one two players on team puppy paws and one on T- wait you’re right! There’s only one player on your team. But I'm sure I divided it up evenly. At first, you had two players on your team but now you only have one. Who’s missing. Let’s check.” said Anastasia. “Let’s see here”, Rolo said. “I’m Here.” “I'm here,” said Rinaldo, Anastasia said “i’m here” and Cloud said, “Here.” They looked around and realized Max was missing. “Where is he? Everybody spread out, let’s start looking” Anastasia said. They searched and searched with no luck. The woods were the only place left to look and they were dark and scary. They decided since the woods were scary they would go together and stick together. No one wanted to go in alone.

They walked along for a little while, Anastasia was calling and calling, she told everyone to join in with her. “Max where are you?”. Cloud yelled. She didn’t hear any voices helping her. “Come on guys call with me so Max can hear.” When she turned around she saw she was alone. She had taken a wrong turn. Suddenly, she got scared. She hid under a bush, the little sounds around frightening her. With every sound she inched closer to the stem of the bush. Meanwhile the others were still searching for Max, except for Rinaldo who had wandered off to find some food. Max was still chasing a butterfly through the woods. He ran until he reached a little meadow. Then he pounced upwards, trying to catch the butterfly. He missed and came down with a thud. The butterfly fluttered away until Max couldn’t see it anymore. Suddenly Cloud heard a grumble. She knew that she couldn’t move back into the bush anymore so she quivered and stood there until she heard somebody say, “Hmm I must be hungry.” Then she turned around, it was Rinaldo. and his stomach was grumbling because he was very hungry. Rinaldo exclaimed “Cloud, there you are!Do you know where we could find some food? I'm getting very hungry. I have a ferocious stomach. “Hmm” Said Cloud, `` let's go look for something to eat. I'm getting hungry too.” So they walked around making sure they didn’t go in a single file line because that’s how they got lost before. They walked in side by side so they could see each other at all times. They kept on walking and walking until they saw a berry bush they ran to it, and then when they were done they heard a little quiver from an animal in the bush. They looked inside and it was Max he had followed his butterfly inside. Then from behind them they heard “Hey Cloud, Max and Rinaldo.” We found you!” it was Rolo and Anastasia. They were all back together and they decided to put a bell on Max so he would never got lost again, and to do some extra training to help him try to stay focused and not get distracted most of the time. The end.

The Music Beat With Matthew and Kash: Grade 1 Art by Robyn Mackay Grade 1 Abba is the best band, it’s almost like they are talking a different language. They are Swedish and they are from the olden days (but when they still had music, just no ipads). Their music has a really good beat, it has singing. Their music is really fast and good for dancing. If you listen to any songs by them the best are Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen and Waterloo. They all have a really good beat and singing and acting too. Their clothes are also really good and the singers are dressed up very well - they have to because they are in a music band. One wears white and a weird kind of brown and the other one wears blue. Fabulous Fashion with Penelope Todd: Grade 1 I made this dress because I have an easter dress at home so I made this dress. The bunny on the dress is the easter bunny, and around it are the easter eggs. The stars are actually sparkles. At the top is a family coming to get the easter eggs. The skirt is made of a material called tulle, tulle is like a material with a lot of holes in it and it is very rough. The top layer of the dress is made of silk, which is a very soft and slippery fabric, and it feels very good. She is holding an easter basket and is wearing bunny faces for earrings. The dress is very sparkly so when the sun is shining on the sparkles it reflects. I think fashion is important because I like it and because my Grandma Hannah was a fashion designer and I really want to be a fashion designer because when I go into my Grandma Hannah’s store, I just see all of these clothes, and I think “these are beautiful, this is what I want to become”.
