Steamboat Bill Jr. + Short Film “The Playhouse”

The Walk 3D

(Charles Reisner, Buster Keaton, USA 1921/1928, 22mins + 71mins) A sparkling remastered edition of Buster Keaton’s wonderfully funny film. The operator of a plush new paddle steamer is determined to put his rival out of business: a rotten old hulk of a ship with a grizzled old Captain to match. When the Captain’s estranged son comes to visit, his father expects a man equally grizzled and determined to take on the big company. Yet instead he turns up with a ukulele, a beret, and no boating skill whatsoever … setting the scene for a series of wonderful sight gags and some brilliant slapstick comedy!

30th Oct – 5th Nov

Crimson Peak

(Guillermo del Toro, USA 2015, AD, 119mins) Swept off her feet by a seductive stranger, a young woman relocates to a mountaintop house that’s riddled with dark secrets. Macbeth

(Justin Kurzel, UK 2015, 113mins) Michael Fassbender plays the ruthless Scottish duke who will stop at nothing to become King. A vivid, epic and grand cinematic retelling of one of Shakespeare’s finest plays.

(Robert Zemeckis, USA 2015, AD, 123mins) Robert Zemeckis’ drama is the incredible true story of Philippe Petit, the fearless dreamer who attempted to achieve the impossible, illegally walking across a single wire strung 415m high between the two World Trade Centre towers. The death-defying act combined with jaw dropping 3D cinematography creates a truly unforgettable experience.
