The lives of various characters converge around Ricardo, a promising teen caught up in a street war.

Dear Mandela + Discussion (Dara Kell, S Africa 2012, 90mins, part subtitled) When the South African government promises to ‘eradicate the slums’ and begins to evict shack dwellers far outside the city, three friends who live in Durban's vast shantytowns refuse to be moved. This documentary follows their journey from their shacks to the highest court in the land.

The homesman (Tommy Lee Jones, USA/France 2014, 122mins) With the help of a drifter (Tommy Lee Jones), a solitary God-fearing lady (Hilary Swank) is tasked with transporting three women across dangerous frontier territory. A compelling western, nominated for the Palm D’Or at Cannes.

Paul Davis Everyone at the Arts Centre, and especially the cinema, would like to pay tribute to our good friend and highly respected colleague Paul Davis. He was part of our family, and his enthusiasm and passion made the cinema a really enjoyable place to be. He was dedicated and gave so much to us because he loved what he did; we will never forget what a truly inspirational and wonderful person he was. We hope our customers will join us in remembering his kindness, and we will dearly miss him. Thank you Paul.

Abertoir Presents: Street Trash (on 35mm!) (Jim Muro, USA 1987, 101mins) This highly enjoyable, outrageously gory 80s schlock follows a liquor store owner who finds mysterious bottles of booze, and sells them for $1 each. One small problem, they cause the drinkers to melt, very messily! Screening on an original 35mm print.
