Personality Test
During our first class we did the Myers-Briggs test to get to know each other as well as ourselves a bit better and see if we could relate to the results we had gotten. Personally I have done the test plenty of times before, so I was curious on what results I would get this time. I suppose it shouldn’t come to a surprise that I received the same result as before which was:
INFJ Which stands for: Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging. As of today only 5% on earth share the same personality type making it the rarest personality type. Overall INFJ’S are caring, gentle people who constantly try to find the hidden meaning of life. They are deep, complex individuals, who are quite private and typically difficult to understand. INFJs hold back part of themselves, and can be secretive as well. Because the INFJ has such strong intuitive capabilities, they trust their own instincts above all else. This may result in an INFJ stubbornness and tendency to ignore other people’s opinions. They believe that they’re right. On the other hand, INFJ is a perfectionist who doubts that they are living up to their full potential. INFJs are rarely at complete peace with themselves - there’s always something else they should be doing to improve themselves and the world around them. If someone were too ask me what I think of the INFJ’s description I would tell them that if I am ever at loss on how to describe myself I would redirect them to this because to me, this description fits me perfectly to the point where I think that they’re describing me instead of a personality type.

Review Ruud Boer
Ruud de Boer is the founder of BTM (Bataafse Teken Maatschappij; a design bureau in Rotterdam) and Author of Brand Design & If you were a brand. Aside from those titles he has also worked for famous companies like Red Band & Fair Trade and played a big part in the growth of his customers in this field. The reading he had given was a result of writing the books mentioned above. The reading was about the usage of Brand Design by the creation of a brand. Using the terms: Brand Design, Inner Brand, Brand Apperance, Brand Behavior, Brand Activation, Personal Branding and the practice of it. The terms combined is necessary to make a strong brand especially when it comes to inner and appearance. Inner and appearance are two very different things. For example, inner is about whom you really are while appearance focuses on its appearance and its quality

Grid Inspiration

My Grid This is the first page (left page) which displays the person who it is about. In this case it’s Tifanny from Girls Generation. Behind her there will be a small quote which of course looks better when it’s on an official page instead of a preview. It has to be a small quote to work because most of it the words will be out of sight because it’s standing behind the person in question
The second page which contains the information for whatever is being reviewed or interviewed. At the top there is a banner accompanied with a small 100 x 100 icon of the person in question Below you can find basic information as name, age and DOB (which stands for Date of Birth) Which leaves the entire left half for the text you want to write. I’ve picked this design because it’s easy to play with, plus it leaves plenty of options to change for example you can change the 100 x 100 icon to the leftand write the basics on the right side of the icon. So the bottom of the page can be split into three columns of text instead of one.

Portfolios
For this project we needed to choose three people that inspire us. On the following pages you will see those who have inspired me until this day, what they do, where they can be found on the social media (that is if they are still alive) and how we can promote them. That said, I want to add a bit of extra trivia to this page on why I have chosen them for this task of the project. • Edgar Allen Poe: I actually didn’t think of choosing him for my project before and only thought of adding him after watching an amv (anime music video) which just happened to play the song ‘Graveyard Picnic’ which intrigued me to write something about him, aside from my obvious love for his stories and poems like mentioned on the next page • Kim HyunA: When we received the task HyunA was the first one I thought of and is in fact the only one who was not replaced after some reconsideration like Edgar and George. The fact I picked HyunA for this task is because she is my favorite female artist in the kpop industry with Amber Liu close after her. (fun fact, Amber is also 3 years older than me) because she (or should I say they) is/are different from the other female singers in the industry. • George R.R Martin: As I’m writing this, I did actually ask myself the question: Why did I pick him again? Though the moment I skimmed over the books resting on my desk in my room I instantly remembered my love for its characters and it’s character development, which is a huge plus in my book because I to write stories which are followed by many and I find character development one of the most important things in the story.

EDGAR ALLEN POE
Often people have a certain goal in live, like becoming a firefighter, police officer and other things but to be frank at the time I didn’t think he had much of a goal like becoming the best writer or any of the sort. I believe he was only trying to make a living for himself and his wife Virginia Elize Clemm Poe for he was unable to finish university due to shortage on money and debts. Mr. Poe has always been a source of inspiration to me because I personally am a fan of all mystery and macabre and I find his poems and stories to be absolutely fascinating. Not only that, but the fact he tried to make a living out of writing which at the time was a very difficult thing to do considering it wasn’t a well paying job just like artists back in the day. Allen Edgar Poe has written many books and poems concerning the themes of mystery, detective and not forget rather macabreness. As for digital media no such thing existed in 1809-1849 Quite frankly I don’t think having people participate by buying his books and poems will have much of an effect anymore considering Mr. Poe is quite well, dead-ish.
However, it can never hurt to read his poems and stories after all he is the inventor of the detective fiction genre. Which is definitely note worthy.
Not forget to mention use his story as an inspiration like I do. Even though he is no longer alive, his legacy will continue because we can keep it alive.

George R.R Martin
I’m fairly certain that his goal is to kill off all characters in the story of fire and ice (Game of Thrones) joking aside I think his goal would be: To be one of the most successful writers in this century and have also one equally sucessful tv show which in my opinion he is close in achieving. The reason why George R.R Martin is such inspiration to me is that I love the setting and the characters he created. As a writer of stories myself I look up to the character development he has written and how much the characters have grown compared to the beginning. George has a twitter account where he can be found on. Aside from his twitter he also has his own site (which is his name) where you can find the latest information about the progress such as new books and the new season. Also on the site you can ask him questions about the story, characters and or theories if you wish to do so. Though I cannot vouch for how long it will take before he responds.
The story he has written is set in a medieval fantasy setting focusing on the family the starks who has a kingdom in the north. To avoid spoilers I will not say too much about the story itself other than that Cersei Lannister & Joffrey Lannister happened. As for a way to promote his products. a.k.a his book and the show game of thrones I’d say buying the books (and actually reading it) along with watching the show (Viewer discretion is advised)

HYUNA
If I were to describe Hyuna’s goal other than to be a popular singer to make a living I’d say that her goal or rather mission is to be not like other kpop artists who overall try to charm the audience with their cuteness. Hyuna is different because she tries to be different from them and not follow the mainstream Kim Hyuna is an inspiration to me because she is only 3 years older than me and has achieved so much already. She is a singer, songwriter, dancer and model and has won several awards at age 22. She can be found on Twitter and Instagram. Each story in her songs is different, as the products she creates are many catchy songs as well as pictures of her photo shoots. The best way to promote her and 4minute is to nominate her and her group at MAMA* MAMA stands for Mnet Asian Music Awards Another way for promotion would be listening to her songs of her and her group 4minutes. Personally my favorite songs are Crazy & Ice Cream
And give her all of the support on twitter of course! It’s nice to know that she and the group are loved by their fans. After all the rest of 4minute need some loving and spotlight as well

Typography
What would we be without the fonts and characters we have today? Our language the written language has a long history dating back to the 24th century B.C written by the high priest Enheduanna. Ever since people started creating their own fonts, their own identities. For this task we needed to choose 5 fonts that we liked, or wanted to use for the for this project. Personally I’ve picked the fonts that I’m familiar with or just recently found. Rather than explaining them all individually I shall group them together and explain to you why I have chosen them.
their appearance overall. Not often you see fonts like these being used because they’re handwritten and let’s be honest here when do you ever really see a handwritten font being used aside from quotes? I believe that despite, their originality they have so much potential to be used more often than they are now and hope to use them too when I work on a new digital workbook like this one.
The reasons on why I have chosen the fonts that I have selected aside from familiarity is;
• Colors of Autumn • Desyrel • Learning curve
• Crown title • Mermaid font

Color Schemes
Analogues Color Scheme* Analogous color schemes use colors that are next to each other on the color wheel. They usually match well and create serene and comfortable designs.
Monochromatic Color Scheme* Monochromatic color schemes are derived from a single base hue and extended using its shades, tones and tints. Tints are achieved by adding white and shades and tones are achieved by adding a darker color, gray or black. Monochromatic color schemes provide opportunities in art and visual communications design as they allow for a greater range of contrasting tones that can be used to attract attention, create focus and support legibility.
Triadic Color Scheme A triadic color scheme uses colors that are evenly spaced around the color wheel. Triadic color schemes tend to be quite vibrant, even if you use pale or unsaturated versions of your hues. To use a triadic harmony successfully, the colors should be carefully balanced - let one color dominate and use the two others for accent.

Monogram && sketches
The monogram AB was inspired by several tattoos I found on the internet accompanied by the Kingdom Hearts logo. Which I happened to see on a blog’s theme on tumblr. The colors I have chosen are inspired by the color scheme from this workbook, originally they were supposed to be purple-ish accompanied with a texture of flowers, making a direct reference to the color swatch task. However due to an error and having to redo that task I ended up picking these colors.

Excursion Preparations
Two days before we would go on excursion we have to answer a couple of questions to properly prepare ourselves. After all, it would be embarrassing if you would arrive at the location and still be wondering; What is it they do again? Either way, the following questions will be answered on the next pages; - What is their Goal? - What is their Mission? - How did they start? - Who are their customers? - What are their Media Channels? - What do they post? - Advice Maybe?

Sequence Zero is an entrepreneur company settled in Arnhem. They offer open and closed work spaces from different disciples. This way people and business companies can share their ideas with other’s and expand their amount of customers they have along with expnding their own network for future references. Having your connections has never hurt anybody. In April 2012 they started with two employees in an old school building at the Schoolstraat in Arnhem. In October they moved to a building on Trans 6. At this location 12 employees started and before they knew it they grew to having 35 employees until this day. A little summary; Their goal: Sequence Zero has as goal to connect people so their ideas and creation along with their creativity can stimulate their growth. Customers: Their customers are those who make a reservation for a room so they can hold meetings there or just use it as a regular workplace
25
Media Channels: Twitter, Youtube, Facebook & Vimeo just search under their company name and you will be able to find them. Also if you have time check out their neat revamped site which can be found on: http://www.sequencezero.org/ Posts: The posts they make on their main site are mostly about the upcoming events that are about to happen or reviews about the events itself. Their site a yay or nay?: When we made this they had a very different site and if I’m going to be brutally honest here, then I would say that it didn’t look very appealing. It had a lot of white space, the links could have done better as well as its color scheme. However! After our visit they’ve redone their site and I was completely astonished by the results, it looks so much better and like I’ve written in the review; Great job guys!

Last Minute Assignment
Like the title already explains, this was literally a last minute assignment we were given and considering most of my workbook was already done at the time it did no longer fit it hence why you can find it under chapter eight now. Problematic scenarios aside, the task that we needed to fulfill was to make our own campaign for our brand. Or should I say, the concept of it. Promotion is very important even if it’s for something as simple as this. To reach out to people I would use my tumblr because I’m familiar with it and know how to reach out to people. Promotional banners can be made to promote yourself along with items concerning certain fandoms to reach out to people, gain more followers; popularize yourself etc. I first would make graphics etc from popular fandoms to gain more followers before promoting myself and trying to gain more support for my work. If I could I would have linked some of my promotional banners here, but considering they’re all gifs that would be impossible. But if you’re really curious you should be on the lookout! I shall post some them on my blog next week, hopefully.

Epilogue
Well it has been one hell of a ride hasn’t it? First time indesign, first time making a digital workbook, thank god I had enough experience with photoshop to make this all a bit easier. The tasks overall weren’t that bad in my opinion, though I have to admit I did make this all a lot harder on myself by using all these drawn manga pictures seeing as it doesn’t go well with real life images and pictures. Perhaps I should go for another theme next time , maybe a little bit less fancy ha ha. Aside from the hard work I did have a lot of fun writing this, even though my hands are now hurting from all the work I’ve done. Thank you all for the great support and for reading this, it means a lot to me!
Disclaimer; The lovely art used in this digital workbook has not been created by me, but Nina. She is an artist on deviantart (laverinne) who has inspired me greatly with her art work in the past and is still inspiring me until this day. Please give her all the support you can by following her, liking her art work or even get a commision done! The price may be a little high, but you definitely get what you paid for and much more.
