to pay for the preservation of your sensitive skin.
Drink Lots of Water
Your skin needs water to retain its smooth appearance and elasticity. Drinking plenty of water also offers a number of other health benefits, including relieving headaches, aiding in weight loss, improving digestive health, and even increasing energy and focus.
Exercise
Exposure to the sun doesn’t just affect your face; it can create sunspots and loosen the skin just about anywhere on your body. Getting 20 to 30 minutes of moderate exercise at least three days a week really helps tighten the skin on your arms, legs, and thighs, while strengthening your muscles and helping to prevent damage to your joints.
Eat Lots of Berries and Veggies Berries are full of disease-fighting antioxidants, which also fight free radicals that are responsible for skin damage on a molecular level. Vegetables like tomatoes, carrots and spinach are also good sources of different types of antioxidants, so make sure to load up on a variety of vegetables as well as berries.
from a lack of exercise. Getting plenty of sleep will also help elevate your mood and make you less prone to anger, so do whatever you can to get six to eight hours of uninterrupted sleep each night. Your family, co-workers, and your own body will thank you.
Use Your Brain!
The most important way to keep looking and feeling young is to keep your brain active. People who regularly exercise their brains through reading and learning are less likely to succumb to conditions like Alzheimer’s, and more likely to have fuller, happier lives into their 70s, 80s, and even 90s. Read books and newspapers, work on crossword puzzles, learn a language or an instrument, or get involved with your local theater.
Keep Smiling
Stress and anger wreak havoc on your overall health, contributing to such problems as high blood pressure, mental disorders, and increased risk of stroke and heart attack. Keeping a good attitude is the best way to combat the effects of stress and anger. If you must have wrinkles, it is much better to have laugh lines than frown lines. +
Eat Healthy Complex Carbs
The complex carbs found in whole grains are vital for keeping you energized, and as anyone who has spent a day at the beach knows, the sun is great at sapping your energy. The USDA recommends making half your daily grains whole. Eat a bowl of brown rice or a sandwich on whole wheat bread before heading out in the sun to feel younger and keep your energy up throughout the day.

At The Age Of 65,Happy Drummer/Percussionist Holidays L.J. Harness Is Always On Stage By Mike Henle www.mikehenle.com At the age of 65, Laurence “LJ” Harness is the ideal double to the Energizer Bunny. A professional drummer and percussionist, he picked up his first pair of “sticks” when he was only 9-years-old. Since then, he has shared the stage touring, opening and performing for top-notch talent like Patti LaBelle, Aerosmith, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Kansas, Ted Nugent and Cheap Trick, among others; and he will also perform June 30-July 2 at the South Point Showroom in the presentation of American Trilogy. The man isn’t afraid of a crowd and he will play a mean flam-a-diddle on his desk with the slightest of thought. He’s on-stage whether he’s working the showroom at Findlay Cadillac where he is marketing/promotions director/sales executive; or entertaining a crowd somewhere in Las Vegas. Harness was a member of the band “Hoochie” that played in stadiums with seating for as many as 60,000 fans in the 1970s and 1980s. “I’m on-stage all the time,” said the colorful native of Muncie, Ind., who has lived in Las Vegas since 2009. “Whether it’s cars or performing on stage, you seriously need to be at the top of your game. This is the closest thing to Rock ‘N Roll I could find for a straight gig that produces a good living while also offering a great time.
16 Simply55+
“Also, in order to be successful in Las Vegas, you must first realize the importance of giving back to the local community.” Harness has been affiliated with the Cadillac brand for 15 years. His connection with the company dates to when he lived in Sarasota, Fla. “Over the years, Cadillac and I have worked hand-in-hand to help raise awareness and funds for worthy or special causes such homeless and disabled veterans; Marine Corps Toys for Tots and Nevada SPCA, to name a few.” As Harness explains, entertainment mixed with the car business has resulted in the perfect combination in a city known world-wide for its never-ending pace, employment opportunities and entertainment. “I think it’s safe to say that once a musician, always a musician,” Harness analyzed. “Las Vegas has so much opportunity for people who are not afraid to work; whether you’re talking about show business, sales or working in a grocery store. “This city was built by innovative people who have never been afraid to take a chance. When a building or property gets old, someone pulls out the checkbook and either rebuilds what’s left, or bulldozes the site to make room for something new.”
Not That Old And Loving It!
Old-time entertainers seem to find a sense of loyalty in Las Vegas, and Harness is one of them. “I am a self-professed old rocker with an edge,” Harness explained. Harness fits into the car business like a ball in a glove. He cannot see himself retiring anytime soon. “My fiance’, Tiffani Foote is so supportive of my efforts,” Harness said. “She’s the backbone that continues to keep me going strong.” Harness seems to fit in well wherever he’s at, and especially in the car business. “Every automobile dealership needs a level of energy,” said Findlay Cadillac general manager John Saksa, who has known Harness for several years. “L.J. brings that energy to this dealership through his deep knowledge of the car business and his notoriety in the community.” +
Not That Old And Loving It!
Sixty-five-year-old automobile executive L.J. Harness has been a percussionist and drummer since he picked up his first pair of “sticks” when he was nine years of age. He is shown performing at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas a few years ago for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots sponsored by Cadillac.

Subsequently, the completion of the Santa Cruz Railroad opened up commerce, led by the production of leather goods, timber and local limestone mining which all provided the region's early economic lifeblood. Another major commercial boost came from the California Powder Works, which became an essential (and major) producer and supplier to the U.S. Army and Navy of smokeless powder for their armaments. The industry dominated Santa Cruz's economy into the early 20th century. As the new century progressed, so did Santa Cruz in both population and in the diversity of the region's industry and service sectors. Nontraditional businesses such as organic farming, tourism and technological advancements became identified with Santa Cruz, as well as developing a dedication to a liberal and progressive social and political activism, manifested by adopting unapologetic positions on such issues as immigration, women's
and worker's rights, marijuana reforms, and standing staunchly opposed to nuclear proliferation.
'Must See' Attractions in Santa Cruz Babyboomers will think they have been magically transported back to the 1950s when visiting the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, the perfect combination of the classic, the 'kitschy' and the modern, offering unending entertainment choices for everyone, regardless of age or interest. Check out the eternally funfilled Looff Carousel, an always-popular family friendly amusement ride that's been thrilling visitors since 1911. There's also the National Historic Landmark Giant Dipper wooden roller coaster, providing screams and excitement since 1924. The Boardwalk isn't all nostalgia and 'remember when' however, with acres and acres of shopping, amusement, dining, strolling and leisurely opportunities -- all situated just a short walk from sandy beaches and attentiongrabbing ocean waves. One of downtown Santa Cruz's most popular sites is Bookstore Santa Cruz, the absolute perfect spot for a leisurely morning or afternoon excursion. For over 50 years, thousands of visitors have taken advantage of this landmark establishment, losing many an hour perusing the latest literary releases as well as browsing the Bookstore's large collection of both rare and used books. Happy Holidays During a visit to the region in 1885, a trio of Hawaiian princes took notice of the excellent ocean waves located up and down Santa Cruz's shorelines, and taking advantage of the opportunity dragged out their strange-looking plank boards and plunged into the water. Almost immediately, a brand new sport was introduced to the mainland U.S. -- surfing. For an educational and entertaining adventure, a visit to the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum is certain to be an unforgettable experience for both the surfing enthusiast as well as novices to the sport. The museum's sizable collection offers exhibits stretching back well over a century, chronicling Santa Cruz's historic place in the popular activity. It's a well established fact that Central California produces some of the finest wines in the world, and for the wine aficionado, a

Mountains to the Bay Tour should be at the very top of their 'to do' itinerary. Every aspect of the winemaking process is covered; from agricultural concerns to harvesting, production and marketing. Always enjoyable and educational, the Tour is guaranteed to deliver. The world-renowned Seymour Marine Discovery Center should be yet another stop on any Santa Cruz visit. Up close and personal exhibits, entertaining and educational guided tours, and the opportunity to interact with rarely seen deep-sea specimens will leave visitors of all ages clamoring for a return visit. One of Santa Cruz's most popular and recognizable attractions is the namesake of Natural Bridges State Beach, a mudstone arch formed by the ocean, estimated to be well over a million years old. The imagination is the only limitation when the subject is dining options in Santa Cruz. A small sampling of options include:
Santa Cruz's unique geographical placement is ideal for sightseeing, featuring sweeping vistas, eye-catching natural rock formations, and some of the Pacific Coast's most spectacular sunsets.
Severino's Bar & Grill-- Breath-taking scenery, an entertaining koi pond and an extensive wine list are just a few of Severino's unique features,
Lodging and Dining in Santa Cruz As a thriving tourist destination, Santa Cruz quite naturally offers visitors a multitude of dining and lodging options, but unlike other vacation 'hotspots,' the area's well-deserved reputation for being slightly 'left of center' extends to their hospitality services. Quaint bed and breakfast inns, frequently housed in homes well over one hundred years old, European styled country manors and all natural farm fresh dining establishments are in abundance, a pleasant and refreshing change from the usual chain lodging and fast food outlets. Some of Santa Cruz's more unique dining and/or lodging choices include: The Babbling Brook Inn -- Nestled among towering redwoods, with cascading waterfall and yes -- a meandering babbling brook, guests will enjoy every aspect and amenity offered at this oneof-a-kind B & B.
Your Place -- As the name implies, Your Place is a home-away-from-home eatery that features only the freshest in locally grown organic ingredients. Riva Fish House-- Specialty seafood dishes are Riva's 'specialty,' giving diners their choice of the absolute freshest delicacies brought in daily. From breathtaking natural scenery, historic surroundings, top-notch entertainment, firstclass dining and lodging choices, a Santa Cruz vacation is certain to check every box for even the most demanding visitor. Toss in Santa Cruz's progressive and friendly mindset and rest assured that a visit to this central California oceanside jewel would provide an experience well worth the effort. +
The Cliff Crest Bed & Breakfast -- Stunning views, spacious comfy rooms adorned in unique decor, combined with unmatched and friendly service makes this turn-of-the-century Queen Anne Victorian-style landmark truly memorable.

Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Receives Final Approval for Happy Holidays Expansion and Renovation of Las Vegas Convention Center District By Oscar B. Goodman, LVCVA Host Committee Chairman
There’s never a dull moment in Las Vegas and this summer has been no exception. Just a few short weeks ago, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) reached a historic milestone as the organization’s Board of Directors gave final approval for the expansion and renovation of the Las Vegas Convention Center- a project coined as the Las Vegas Convention Center District (LVCCD). Undoubtedly, tourism is the lifeblood of Southern Nevada’s economy and this decision secures Las Vegas’ position as the world’s premier business destination. Last year, Las Vegas welcomed a record-breaking 42.9 million visitors and of those, an all-time-high of 6.3 million people traveled to the destination for business purposes. Historically, Las Vegas has always been a popular travel destination on weekends and convention traffic helps the destination keep its nearly 150,000 hotel rooms teeming with traffic throughout the week. The LVCCD is a thoroughly vetted project that has gained the support of community leaders and lawmakers throughout the state of Nevada. These decision makers have made incredible strides in identifying business travel as a conduit for fueling the economy and improving the quality of life for those who call the Silver State home.
40 Simply55+
The LVCVA is eager to get to work on the expansion and renovation of the Las Vegas Convention Center to help move the destination forward. The LVCCD project is expected to support nearly 14,000 construction jobs and nearly 7,800 full-time permanent jobs upon completion. The project will generate an additional $1.4 billion into the economy during construction and have an annual incremental economic impact of $810 million while attracting one million additional visitors each year. The LVCCD expansion and renovation will be completed in a phased approach with a projected completion date of 2023. Phase 1 will be the construction of the new 1.4 millionsquare-foot expansion with 600,000 square feet of exhibit space and the accompanying meeting rooms and support space. This phase is projected to be complete by 2021. The second phase will be the complete renovation of the existing 3.2 million-square-foot facility. The phased approach will ensure that no business will be displaced during the construction and renovation. The project will allow the LVCVA to pursue new business opportunities while also growing the shows currently taking place in the destination. The LVCVA has identified 70 additional, new events, that could potentially be brought to the Not That Old And Loving It!
destination in the next decade. These 70 shows would grow the economic impact of Southern Nevada’s $12.4 billion meetings and conventions industry by nearly 50 percent. Many people are surprised to learn Las Vegas is home to nearly 22,000 meetings and conventions each year. This month alone, the destination will host large-scale events including RollerCon 2017, Cosmoprof North America 2017, Las Vegas Market and the ASD Show. As Chairman of the Las Vegas Host Committee, I often have the pleasure of welcoming these groups and thanking them for choosing Las Vegas as their destination of choice. It’s amazing to see how a heartfelt ‘thank you’ makes such a big difference in these visitor’s overall experience in Las Vegas.

AARP has made strides to negotiate discounts for its members, and the organization costs less than $20 per year to join. AARP members most frequently take advantage of deals on travel, as the organization offers 20 percent off on certain hotels and similar deals on car rentals. Additionally, AARP can benefit people at a younger age who may not be old enough for a standard senior citizen discount, as membership is available to individuals who are 50 and older.

Visit websites online to get advice on where unlisted bargains for seniors can be found, and consult with your friends and family members to find out where they have had success in receiving a discount.
Investigate National Deals
When researching possible deals, it is important to examine the fine print, as some discounts may only be available for certain days and times. For example, some retailers may only offer breaks for senior citizens on a certain day of the week. After you find out when specific deals are offered, you can tailor your shopping trips in order to take advantage of those savings.
Some national businesses clearly advertise their discounts for their aging customers. Places like restaurants, movie theaters, museums, and other retailers will post their senior rates, while companies like Amtrak advertise their 15 percent discount for elder travelers as a marketing point.
