I see things in a hyperbola rather than linearity. Venturing untaken paths; connecting the dots is creativity. I have realized, attention to details is the key to insight. We observe and mimic: these are my ‘fork n knife’; and nature is my plate. Abhishek Gaur 4th year Industrial design Furniture and Interior Under-graduation program National institute of design

Spliting a pipe vertically along it’s length is a risky approach to structure. To challenge this notion, inspired by a split banana; Split Acryclic chair was created; by splitting the pipe and creating a experimental structure. It is a sustainable piece, using minimum material efficiently to provide the strength.

The focus: We see pipe structure everywhere, did we tried splitting it? Created with the concept of using a single pipe, the Split Acrylic chair, is a joint-free structure. It begins with a single pipe; splits to unite the front and back legs, and unites at the end.

• Acupressure and reflexology
Why acupressure and reflexology: This self-healing process that can be implemented in daily based working. Not much people are aware of it, so it seems quite interesting to know much more deeply about acupressure and reflexology. Acupressure is an ancient healing art that entails using an object (generally the hands or arms) to stimulate specific key points on the body with the goal of relieving pain or discomfort. Pain and discomfort are considered to be signs of energy imbalance, which, if left in this state, will become illness and disease. Reflexology is a system of healing based on balancing energy by stimulating areas in the feet and hands that relate to organs, glands, and parts of the body. Reflexology is similar to acupressure in basic principle, but the two have some differences as well. They both correct imbalances in the energy force by focusing on specific areas of the body where they pinpoint (and treat) that imbalance. Although acupressure involves meridians and acupoints, reflexology relies on pathways called reflex zones, which contain reflex areas located on the hands and feet. The posture of the backbone plays an important role, a pathway of our body, the most important posture that the body has to maintain. The main channel to flow energy in the body (acupressure).

ASSESSMENT
“Angle is perfect ,felt comfotable. Felt more pressure on the spine which makes me feel light and relaxing. Felt like floating because of the back curve that covered my torso and head support provided. Felt some flow in the body from bottom to upper body.”
C H A I R
Hand and legs are more free then rest of the body. Acupressure points make the user aware of the body points which helps flow of ‘qi’ more towards that points.
Providing a surface that covers the whole body.
Giving support to the spine that rests in a neutral posture
