I see things in a hyperbola rather than linearity. Venturing untaken paths; connecting the dots is creativity. I have realized, attention to details is the key to insight. We observe and mimic: these are my ‘fork n knife’; and nature is my plate. Abhishek Gaur 4th year Industrial design Furniture and Interior Under-graduation program National institute of design

Conventional notions of Design, in my opinion have a materialistic approach. At the heart of good Design, is the need to understand the human psyche. other then this,i’m very active sports person with high spirit. Why you should consider me: Apart from designing, I’m very flexible and open. quick learner and love to take part in activities enthusiastically and activily. Good at managing and coordinating.

As per the survey, people are more concerned about material and design over price. 65% of the people are highly concerned about their interiors and more than 30% have a moderate approach over their interiors. Surprisingly, more than 75% of the people are concerned about the type of furniture in their home decor. Most of them like to have simple and classic furniture and some prefer customized furniture for their interiors.
CONCERN ABOUT INTERIOR COMBINATION OF MATERIAL CONTEMPORARY DESIGN WOOD FURNITURE
Indians always keep value for money and have concerns about ‘kitna chalega’, i.e durability of the product. More than 80% of them are not willing to change their furniture till 5 years. People often get connected to furnitures over a period of time, which ends up staying as an ancestors memory for decades.

A centre for the living traditions of art, folk, performing arts and architecture of India. Our lifestyle was purely based on nature, thermal comfort, natural lighting, practical use of local materials and other aspects of good design, traditional lifestyle was logical and eco-friendly for example, cow dunk is used as fuel to clean mud homes and as fertilizer. It starts with nature and ends with nature, this maintains the eco-system.

There were some important decisions to be taken for further exploration and incorporation. Contrast is seen in design through defferent use of materials, colour and finishes. There are many combinations of material have been seen.Craft is very triky point for this project because, the company interests don’t lie in the carving of the wood etc. They want to be minimal. To add the craft, weaving was incorporated as one important aspect to trigger the sense of touch. The idea was to incorporate story telling through my furniture because this is intriguing aspect of art and craft in India. Even belifes are conveyed through story telling. Two elements that add aesthetic beauty is its ‘raw nature’ and the sense of touch.
Ornamentations cue regional diversity through it’s aesthetic stories, as also convey social heirarchies. Hence ornamentation, their meanings can convey the stories intended.

International Design Values People prefer to buy things which are important to them, be it intangible or not. All international design languages have similar characteristics. Firstly, emphasising on a set of attributes that are necessary to its identity and function. In other words, they follow essentialism, where designs are kept minimal. These design elements would change according to the region or target audience. The second approach is ‘simplicity’. This term refers to the minimising and refining the complex forms and processes. Simplicity has multiple benefits which can produce an elegant design with functional necessity. Nominal usage of the materials or ease in manufacturing would cut down the cost and time for mass production. This would compliment the value of affordability by the reduced price of the furniture. Additionally, the aesthetics. This makes the design look attractive and suitable for living standards. Aesthetics play an important role in a furniture with respect to the proportions amongst its design, shape/form and cmf (colour, material & finish).

The idea is to amalgamate the ancient handmade technique along with contemporary style aesthetics. Weaving lends to a modern and offbeat look to the design while the brass inlay bring in ornamentated vibe.

Spliting a pipe vertically along it’s length is a risky approach to structure. To challenge this notion, inspired by a split banana; Split Acryclic chair was created; by splitting the pipe and creating a experimental structure. It is a sustainable piece, using minimum material efficiently to provide the strength.

• Acupressure and reflexology
Why acupressure and reflexology: This self-healing process that can be implemented in daily based working. Not much people are aware of it, so it seems quite interesting to know much more deeply about acupressure and reflexology. Acupressure is an ancient healing art that entails using an object (generally the hands or arms) to stimulate specific key points on the body with the goal of relieving pain or discomfort. Pain and discomfort are considered to be signs of energy imbalance, which, if left in this state, will become illness and disease. Reflexology is a system of healing based on balancing energy by stimulating areas in the feet and hands that relate to organs, glands, and parts of the body. Reflexology is similar to acupressure in basic principle, but the two have some differences as well. They both correct imbalances in the energy force by focusing on specific areas of the body where they pinpoint (and treat) that imbalance. Although acupressure involves meridians and acupoints, reflexology relies on pathways called reflex zones, which contain reflex areas located on the hands and feet. The posture of the backbone plays an important role, a pathway of our body, the most important posture that the body has to maintain. The main channel to flow energy in the body (acupressure).
