Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Tuesday expressed strong resentment over the non-implementation of apex court’s orders, warning that the court should not be forced to call “someone else” for action on the verdicts. “If the court verdicts are implemented, the law and order would have been different in Karachi,” the chief justice remarked while hearing petitions about law and order, kidnapping for ransom and missing persons at the Quetta Registry on Tuesday. The three-member bench

hearing the petitions included Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Parvez. He said armed men were moving freely in the vehicles of Balochistan ministers without any check and questioned why the ministers involved in kidnapping for ransom were not being arrested. He said what message was being sent from Balochistan to the outside world when dead bodies are being found and people being kidnapped. The CJ said it was surprising that when a dictator comes there was peace and stability but this was not the case during democracy. Continued on page 04
