I am a third year interior design student interested in how interior spaces affect how we feel and behave, after all, we spend most of our time indoors. To me, interior design revolves around the human experience and wellbeing of its users. We have the opportunity to influence how people feel within a space. I have a passion and love for textile art, sculpture, photography, nature, and mixed media.

01 Retail Project The Sel Year: Fall 2020, Third Year Location: New Hope, PA Media: Autodesk Revit, Rhinocerous, Grasshopper, Enscape, Photoshop, Indesign

The goal was to design a retail atmosphere in New Hope, Pennsylvania, a small town North of Philadelphia, that takes into consideration the demographics of the area and recent retail trends. Important considerations included engaging the community in a unique way related to the store to increase clientele and maintaining connection throughout the design. The examination of threedimensional spatial relationships between the three levels was essential.

This ethically sourced and sustainable plant store is an exploration of microscopic cell structure. The building is a journey, a living embodiment of moving through cells. Experimenting with cellular forms in plan and three dimension, creates an immersive experience. Exploring these pourous structures through which things move.

The material palette is soft, simple, and modern. The green of the foliage is very prominent so it made sense to pair that with more natural and earthy tones, while still infusing pops of color.

02 Senior Child Mentor Center --Sinyoo Year: Spring 2020, Second Year Location: Philadelphia, PA Media: Autodesk Revit, Rhinocerous, Photoshop, Indesign

This facility, located in Philadelphia, PA, will serve the local community, both senior citizens (55+ years) and school age pre-teens (5-12 years), through programs, classes, and events. In partnership with Thomas Jefferson’s Occupational Therapy students.

The term Sinyoo is Uzbek, meaning ‘a piece of tough fibrous tissue uniting muscle to bone or bone to bone; a tendon or ligament.’ The design was inspired by fine motor skills and the expansion and contraction of muscles in the hand as they age. Fine motor skills are the coordination of small muscle movements in the hands and fingers. As muscles age, they begin to shrink and lose mass.

Abstraction of muscle

Abstraction translated into formal concept

The material selection represented both age groups through it’s sleek, light, and sophisticated colors, while also being playful and bold.

03 Audiology Office Year: Spring 2020, Second Year Location: Philadelphia, PA Media: Autodesk Revit, Photoshop, Indesign An interior designer seeks to protect and enhance health, life safety, and welfare of people within the built environment. The goal of this project was to design a small audiology medical office. Understanding appropriate adjacencies for tasks, zones, and efficient workflow, ADA standards, entry sequence, etc.

This audiology office shows the disection of a soundwabe as it relates to density, looking at how a wave works through comperssion and rarefraction. This concept broke the pattern of a sooundwave as it directs customers through the sapce.

LONGITUDINAL SECTION

FLOOR PLAN

The landscape of Brazil is rich with slopes and plateaus. I began with a topographic map of Brazil and scaled it to plan, then began to shift and simplify the map to create zones. I extracted these zones into floor and ceiling level slopes to give the experience of weaving through land forms.

The restaurateur and chef was originally from the country of Brazil. Client wanted to focus on “fusion” cuisinie that combined his homeland cusine with contemporay cooking trends. COLOR STRATEGY THIS COLOR THEORY IS A PHYSICAL AND CULTURAL REPRESENTATION OF BRAZIL. COLOR AND MATERIAL FOLLOWS THE FORM OF THE NATURAL AND DRAMATIC LANDSCAPE WHILE ALSO INTEGRATING THE SPICINESS OF THE PEOPLE, CITY, FOOD, AND CULTURE. MOTION VERSUS EMOTION. CALM VERSUS BOLD.

05 Past Works Year: Fall 2018, First Year Location: Philadelphia, PA Media: Hand-drafting, modeling, drawing, sculpture Collection of works from first year design studio and Visualization classes which displays design thinking and technical hand-drafted drawings.

Visualization 2 for Interiors Hand-drafting and surveying the existing conditions and dimensions of the Ravenhill Mansion Foyer. Prroject objectives included; proper and varied line weights, dimension strings with proper text orientation, observation notes with leader lines, etc.

Design 1, Mondrian Required to construct an 8”x8”x8” cube. The front elevation was to replicate Mondrians painting, No. VI / Compositiono No. II 194142. The rest of the sides were of interpretation. Explored relationship and heirarchy between color and planes. Concept derived from warm colors advance, cool colors recede.

Design 1, Crafting Cubes Through the construction of 4”x4”x4” cubes presented each week, students learned the understanding of material property and joinery.

The Waterfall Stool , 2016

05 Past Works Year: High School Location: Baltimore, Maryland Media: Sculpture The following works were produced in Design Thinking and Senior Studio art classes. Displays my passion and interest for the natural and manmade world.

Building on the idea of transforming flat geometrical sketch concepts into three-dimensional objects. The corrugations are oriented to “flow” into the leg panel, inspired by the movement of a waterfall. Studied in sketch and maquette to evaluate scale, proportion, and shape. This full size stool was required to support the weight of a person indefinitely.

City of Steel, 2018 City of Steel is an assemblage of reused nails, screws, and bolts densely arranged freestanding by hand to create an abstract, miniature cityscape. The use of these found materials represents the idea of recycling, while depicting a collection of buildings in a modern world. Part of high school final senior studio show.
