twenty years old man, Abi Kemal Khadafi you can call him Abi. A humorous (but often his jokes was failed), friendly, keen, and curious person. And he also a tolerant person (this thing is very necessary, because our country need more tolerance to each other). But first, I want to tell you a short story about him. Since in childhood, he was so imaginative, love food, watching cartoon series, and enjoying his childhood so much. He’s also love to draw since kid. But the funny thing is he doesn’t remember at all about him doing drawings while still in elementary school until one of his friend told him so.
But when he was in 13 years old, he realized it and did so much drawing, especially graffiti. He has begun his hobby when he was in junior high school. With his friends, he started the graffiti, with the nickname KDL (kidal) because he is a left-handed person. And then after he has graduated from junior high school, He changed his nickname to Helios. Inspired by God Of Sun, from Greek. Because the sun give an existence to all the creature in this world, including pro and cons. As we know, in this life we have a good thing and also a bad thing, but we have to always learn how to balance it.
And also he was inspired by psychedelic art, psychedelic era around 60s. He brought a contrast and colorful colors from psychedelic art to his own style. He also like reading manga or American comic, can’t be denied his own illustration style also influenced by comic and manga.
And now, he’s going to attend the internship program from his university. He’s looking for a place that want to accept him as a part of the team. He wants to learn more, get some more experience in this internship program.
In 2017, he registered the exhibition named Artbound exhibition that University of Indonesia held. And then he has passed the curation, and then join the exhibition group. The exhibition was held at Lippo Mall Kemang, with the mentor Muhammad Taufiq (emte) and Aprina Murwanti. And then he attended the exhibition till last day, and brought much experience and knowledge from that exhibition, that was an amazing experience that he ever got.
So, this is the story about him. I think this short story was a pretty long story, hehe. Because he’s pretty much a chatty kind of person to everyone and does some funny stuff too. So, feel free to invite him!
Short Story
Back to the story, finally he found his own character. Inspired by Angler Fish, a creature who live in undersea. And he always developed his own character till now, and then the Angler Fish evolve into an undersea monster. The monster character that he always put him in his artwork, especially illustration. Since he studied at Binus University till present, he always developed his drawing skill. Work hard in days or night, sharpening his skill till now. And finally he found his own style in illustration, inspired by surrealism art, and also artist such as Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, and etc.

This artwork explain about the man who infuriated, angry and aware about his country and the world. Tired about everything that drain his mind and energy such a intolerance case, rapist, murdering, heist, and bad attitude that people around the world do. He want to speak out, spout his own thought about stop doing that, respect differences, respect each other, open your mind, this world is not narrow like what you think.
But he always remember, what he was thinking about is not always right. But at least, he know what he was thinking was not harm people, and fight in side of humanity, and for better life.

And also we hope they will have an idea or thoughts that could make a positive things and give a benefit to this world. So we have a concept that placed a laundry room at first floor, and make a café and co-working space at second floor. So people who came to that place could wait for their clothes at second floor, or people who only want to come to second floor for meeting, playing, eat, or just relaxing. So not only café and co-working place, we also provide an interactive games for people who come to second floor. And why lundi? It’s just a wordplay from “laundry” to “lundi” it means Monday in france. Because the laundry place was a Monday Laundry. And another reason is, lundi is easy to say, and easy to listen. A catchy name.
But I have to adjust it, so people who stare at this product will interest to pick it to home. I adjust psychedelic art and element to look more simple and people still can read the information that officially stamped on packaging design. I decide to use a strong color to draw attention to people, and use some pattern for additional element that could be strengthen the visual design as a unity. And finally, this visual packaging design have an interesting form but still readable and legible.
