The Brazilian APIs Industry Association (Abiquifi) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) develop, in partnership, the project for the internationalization of APIs and pharmaceutical Brazilian sectors. They also have the support of other industry organizations as Sindusfarma, Alanac, Interfarma, Prรณ-Genericos and Abifina. The initiative aims to expand the participation of companies from Brazilian pharmaceutical and APIs productive chain into the international scenario, seeking to increase exports, technology transfer, investment attraction and the internationalization of the sector. It promotes actions in business intelligence, international marketing, prospective missions, building export capacity, international fairs, business rounds and trade missions directed to different target markets, including countries from all five continents.

International promotion of Brazilian machinery and equipment are set in action by the Brazil Machinery Solutions Program - BMS, result of a partnership between ABIMAQ and Apex-Brasil. The program’s main goals are to increase Brazilian manufacturers’ participation in the international market and to strengthen the positioning and perception of Brazilian technology. In order to achieve its objectives, the BMS Program develops commercial promotion actions in priority countries. Participation in international fairs and events, business missions and roundtables, market intelligence are some of the tools developed by BMS to support companies. More than three hundred companies are already participating in this program, which this year is expected to generate business of the order of US$1 billion. The program has been growing every year, with BMS members increasing their exports results and standing out in the international market with reliable and creative solutions. BRAZILIAN MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT SECTOR The Brazilian machinery and equipment industry is one of the top exporting segments of the national industry. In the first 11 months of 2017, the exportation of the sector grew 15%, compared with the period of 2016. The sector has significant potential in the world market, including in the most demanding and competitive markets, such as the United States and Europe, which are the main destinations of Brazilian products. Despite adversities, companies in the industry keep improving their capabilities and strengths to improve their activities in the foreign market. In the first ten months of 2017, the sector represented more than 10% of total manufactured exports. When it comes to meat processing industry, USA is one of the main destination of Brazilian exports and Brazil is among the top 5 origins of technology and equipment for Latin America countries. The companies at the Brazilian pavilion with their long history of innovative solutions are at the core of the high productivity displayed by Brazilian giants as JBS and BR Foods. The Brazilian APIs Industry Association (Abiquifi) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1983 and brings together companies from the APIs and Pharmaceutical supplies sector. Its main goal is to stimulate the development of their production in Brazil. Abiquifi has its own website (www. abiquifi.org.br) with various market information, statistics, relevant laws and many other important data; it publishes an annual index which records all APIs and pharmaceutical inputs produced in Mercosur, besides coordinating the project of internationalization of the sector.

The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) works to promote Brazilian products and services abroad, and to attract foreign investment to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy. The Agency carries out several commercial promotion initiatives, such as commercial and prospective missions, business rounds, support to the participation of Brazilian companies in major business fairs, and visits of foreign buyers and opinion formers to assess the Brazilian productive structure, among other business platforms aimed to strengthen the Brazil brand. The Agency supports more than 10,000 companies from 82 different industries, which in turn export to 200 markets. Apex-Brasil also acts to promote the competitiveness of Brazilian companies in their internationalization process, especially in market intelligence, business training and image promotion, as well as foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction. This is the sixth edition of the International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE) that the Consulate General of Brazil in Atlanta takes part in, through its Trade and Investment Bureau (“Setor de Promoção Comercial” - SECOM, in Portuguese). The Bureau seeks to promote and strengthen relations in these areas between Brazil and the States in the Southeast that fall under our jurisdiction (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee). All companies at the IPPE will be benefiting from the Consulate’s support. Since its first participation at the IPPE, in 2013, the Trade and Investment Bureau has helped Brazilian businesses find new trade partners, through matchmaking and networking actions with Canadian and US enterprises. In order to achieve all of this, the Consulate has always relied on the help of our very important partners such as, the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce Southeast (BACC-SE). Hightech is a company that operates in the metal mechanics sector for the food industry, with focus on poultry slaughterers and factories of industrialized products. It began its activities in July 1988, and today has a well-structured industrial park with 12,000 m² of area, located in the city of Chapecó, State of Santa Catarina, Brazil. It operates internationally, and is present in more than 23 countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Products: Hightech has three different equipment lines. The HT Line has mechanical deboning machines, mechanical separators and packing machines. They are used for the processing of Mechanically Separated Meat (MSM) and Mechanically Recovered Meat (MRM).
