NAIR CURRENT ADVISOR TO THE PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA Mr Nair, a senior and well-known bureaucrat in the Prime Minister of India’s Office, was also Principal Secretary to former Indian Prime Ministers H.E. I.K. Gujral and H.E. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and continues to be the backbone of the Prime Minister’s Office for over seven years. His knowledge of evolving policies, structuring projects at the Central Government level to bring mega infrastructure projects to life, and the role of the government and private sector in supporting economic growth at national and international levels, is unmatched.
A graduate in Industrial Management and Technology, HE Khalil bin Abdullah Al Khonji was handpicked by the Sultan of Oman to serve as the Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in 2007. His contributions towards realising the organisation’s goals have ensured that the OCCI is always abreast of latest economic developments and also acts as a catalyst in activating the Sultanate’s national economy. He is known for his penchant for adopting new technologies, making connections and executing masterful business expansions. ABLF AWARDS 2013 We set the stage for the third edition of the Asian Business Leadership Forum (ABLF) Awards in a world that teeters on the curved edge of great change, where the magnificent new opportunities, raw, unlimited creativity and empowerment through knowledge are hindered only by the barriers of ignorance, conflict and short-sightedness. Through my years of working on the development of the ABLF, I have had the good fortune to meet and engage with some of best and brightest minds in the world and associate with leaders of great vision. It is through this insight and recognition that I can state, with some authority, that the only sustainable antidote to the spiral into dissonance at any level – globally, regionally or at the level of country or community – is the power of dynamic and principle-driven leadership. As the world hurtles dizzyingly through myriad political, economic and social changes, the focus needs to centre on empowering human capital to nurture a new generation of future leaders, who need guidance, information, education and training. The role of platforms like the ABLF is to present stellar examples to this youth capital, to inspire, as well as act as a blueprint for ensuring a more enlightened Asian business ethic that can escalate and promote economic growth and development in the region. In its relentless quest to showcase the finest facets of Asian leadership, and inspire the region, the ABLF has enjoyed the Patronage and ardent support of H.H.
