Though less famed than it its neighbor to the north (home of Everest - the Khumbu) this trek offers strenuous days paid off by amazing access to the local culture and spectacular views!
We chose this sample because it includes one of our favorite festivals in all of South Asia - Mani Rimdu at Chiwong Gompa. It offers a chance to move beyond seeing to exploring, to go from seeing to experiencing - and even sharing in the moment of celebration.
