The Congress returned to power in Karnataka on its own after nine years with its leader Siddaramaiah taking oath as the 28th chief minister of the state in a ceremony. The return of Congress to Vidhana Soudha, the seat of secretariat in this tech hub, was celebrated by over 50,000 people who witnessed the 10-minute swearing-in ceremony of Siddaramaiah at the sprawling Kanteerva stadium. As Governor H R Bhardwaj administered the oath of office and secrecy to the 64-year-old Siddaramaiah, the crowds cheered wildly while Siddaramaiah fans from his assembly constituency Varuna staged folk dances to the beat of music, including drums. Caste Legislation; Unjust and Unwarranted slur on British Hindus beginning for his deeply troubled country and tortured relations with India. Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has emerged the single largest party. Pakistan election
results 2013 are almost out and it is sure that Nawaz Sharif, the chief of Pakistan Muslim League (N) will form the new government. His party has won more than four times Continued on page 26
Railway, law ministers resign over corruption charges Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan's former prime minister, is all set to take over charge of the country for an unprecedented third time following the electoral victory of his party. Sharif odyssey has been remarkable - but now we will see if he can convert his victory into a new
Corruption issue has forced railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal and law minister Ashwani Kumar to leave the Manmohan Singh government. They were forced to resign after Congress chief Sonia Gandhi discussed the corruption charges against the ministers with the Prime Minister sending out the
signal that no wrongdoings will be tolerated. The Congress which won the Karnataka Assembly election on the anti-corruption plank, took the decision as it did not want to send out a wrong signal by showing the party was soft on corruption, a party source said. Continued on page 26
Under the Employment and Regulatory Reform Bill (ERRB), the government have accepted defeat, but instead of bringing separate primary registration, they have activated a clause in the 'equalities act' 2010. Cleverly the government has delayed its implementation straight away and embarks on a consultation process for an unspecified time, and opted for a kind of monitoring. The government perhaps has attempted to offer a red herring, A 'Sunset Clause' could be the 'sun setting' on the basic rights of equality and self esteem of British Hindus. Hindus and Jains have belatedly woken up to this unjust and unwar-
ranted intervention which could create painful divisions amongst themselves and bring disharmony especially in the business environment. Some Labour MPs have started writing to their Hindu and Jain Constituents explaining why they pushed this legislation through. Perhaps the Tories and Lib Dems will follow suit. The Association of Hindu Organisations have taken a firm stand against this Governmental decision and have approached all Hindus / Jains as well as others to write to their own MP's.
