London Marathon will go ahead as planned on Sunday despite the horrific scenes at Boston Marathon, where explosions near the finish line killed at least three people and wounded more than 100, Britain’s sports minister Hugh Roberston said. Security is

being tightened for the London event, which will attract 36,000 runners. The Boston blasts, which left many people gravely injured, detonated close to spectators standing behind roadside barriers. It was the worst bombing on US soil since security was

tightened after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and President Barack Obama promised to hunt down whoever was responsible for the attack on a day when tens of thousands of spectators packed the streets to watch the famous race. Continued on page 26

British Indians especially the Gujarati community is shocked and shaken to learn about the sudden and unexpected death of a the young mother Heena Solanki (34) and her two children Prisha (4) and Jasmine (9) at their semidetached Ruislip family home in North West London, which she shared with her husband Kalpesh and parents in law Chaganlalbhai (71) and Kalavatiben Solanki (61). It is believed that Heena, who was a Chemical lab technician may have killed her children using a poisonous gas before taking her own

life. Detectives suspect that Heena may have used her chemistry knowledge to do so. Though the real reason for the death is unknown, as Asian Voice went to print, The Daily Telegraph reportedly said that Heena may have been suffering from depression, it has been claimed. Officers from Scotland Yard’s Homicide and Serious Crime Command are not seeking anyone else in connection with the three deaths so far.
