Hello.... My name is Desiree Baca and I’m the manager here at AbqPartySpace. I’ve been happy working in the as a personal event planner for 5 years now. Not only do I get to meet with clients, I bond with them over the course of their event. Over the past 5 years I’ve been able to be apart of over 600 parties, from baby showers, kids parties, adult parties, sweet sixteens, weddings and many more. Making events have a successful turn out over the years has been a fun adventure, learning so much and making clients events everything they dreamed. Over the past 5 years I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some amazing caterers, djs, bakers, linens and still meeting more of them everyday. Putting together different themes for every single event and pairing up all these vendors with the clients to make the event a success is always a challenge at first but in the end SUCCESS. I am proud to say that I’ve been able to decorate for so many events over the years, it has given me the opportunity to bond with clients till the day of the event and some that I still keep in touch with.

Taking care of these personal events I’ve learned that this is about “LOVE” and by that I mean these are people’s grandparents, parents, children and close friends. So it is my main goal here at AbqPartySpace to see that all the events have their needs met as much as possible. I’m happy to say that my AbqPartySpace team is here to make every event happen without breaking your packet. Our goal is to find every affordable way to make it happen without the stress of having to handle it on your own. We are here to help along with the process, to make each event less stressful till the day of. Every single event as it own personal experience and I can proudly say that we are here for you.

Can we serve alcohol?

We are located at 300 Menaul Blvd NW on the South side of the building. There is a big purple sign in the parking lot on 4th and Menaul and a red neon sign over our entry.

If you wish to serve alcohol we will hire for you a bartender, a security person to card and assure guests don’t over indulge and we will need to purchase insurance. The total price for this is: 5 hour party - $200. 4 hour party $160. 3 hour party $120.

What are your prices? Prices range from a three hour event on a weeknight for $139 to $399 for Friday in the West room, $549 for Friday in the East Room, $650 for Saturday night in the West Room, $850 in the East Room, Saturday afternoon is 3 hours for $299 in the West and $329 in the East. Sunday afternoon and evening is $269 for 3 hours in the West and $299 in the East. Additional hours are $50 on Friday and Saturday night and $30 on all other parties.

Can we bring our own food? You can certainly bring your own food. We will give you 4 buffet tables, two coolers, electricity, extensions for crock pots, a fridge and freezer, all the water you need and racks for your aluminum pans. Bring sterno and plastic utensils and of course pick up some ice along the way.

What if we do not want to cook? We can recommend several caterers. Call A to Z Catering for Continental at around $10 per person: 505 328 0346 or Caliente Catering: 505 804 0787 for New Mexican at about $7.50 a person.

Can we have time to decorate? All parties get at a minimum 1 hour and 45 minutes to decorate. Fridays you can have more and you can have more during the week. Additional hours Saturday and Sunday morning are $15 each. If you would like us to decorate for you, just bring your decorations and we will have two hostesses decorate for 2 hours for $40.

Have the wedding ceremony here? Yes. We can set a room up like a church style with as many rows of chairs that you want. After the ceremony we will move all the furniture as needed. There is no charge for this.

How many people can you hold? We have two rooms. One seats 116 and the other 144. They connect with a door and we often have large events accommodating over 200 guests. This is a great way to have a large family gathering with a lot of kids. We can have a huge bounce house and face painter for all the kids while all the adults dance the night away.

Do you have DJ’s?

How is the parking?

We can get you DJ’s. Their numbers are in the magazine or just call us and tell us what you like. Five hours will run roughly $300. You can of course bring your own DJ and you can evenjust bring a laptop or a phone and get free Wi-Fi.

Do you have air conditioning? We have 20,000 BTU’s of refrigerated air. Don’t throw a party in a place with a swamp cooler.

Do you have a dance floor? Both rooms are equipped with large, professional grade dance floors.

Do you have a kitchen? You can bring all your food in and arrange it beautifully on the buffet. We will give you all the racks and pans you need. You will have a fridge, freezer, two coolers, plenty of water and electricity.

Do you have a wedding officiant? Can I pay off the party in payments? One that comes to mind is Amor Ceremonies. 505 453 8602.

How soon do I have to book? We book on a first come first serve basis. If you really need a certain date, grab it. Weddings book out up to 18 months, other parties range from 1-6 months. Play it safe!

What is the deposit? The deposit is 25% of the price. This goes directly against your balance. So if your party room is $399 you put down $100 and you owe $299.

Once you pay the deposit the room is yours. You can stop in or call in periodically and pay whatever you like to get your balance down or you can just pay in one additional payment prior to the event. We can work with you on that.

What about Clean-Up? Just take your leftovers and gifts and we handle the rest. Your life just got really simple!

Looking for a perfect place to have your wedding reception (and ceremony too?)

all for under $1000? Our Saturday night package includes a huge private room for up to 144 guests, a 5 hours party including tables, chairs, dance floor, 2 additional hours of decorating time, DJ equipment, food warmers, a hostess, a doorman, a huge parking lot and of course we clean up at the end all for $850. Make Your

Halloween Bash Wickedly Creative

(NewsUSA) – Have you ever walked into a happening Halloween party bumping music like Kid Rock or Rebecca Black? Of course not. Party throwers, beware: the right spooky playlist can take a party from yawningly decent to over-the-top spectacular in moments. But this isn’t just any party we’re talking about — this is Halloween, and your bash needs more than candy and crepe paper to be a hit. There’s a select number of Halloween party do’s and don’ts that all hosts and hostesses should be aware of. Music is critical, but it isn’t everything. Do crank up a creative Halloween music mix: Obvious picks are “Thriller” and “The Time Warp” from “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” but that’s only a start. Halloween party music must have a haunting quality that still causes bodies to gyrate and arms to fist-pump. If punk rock is your musical poison, a certain soundtrack may set the perfect loud atmosphere. Horror flick “Night of the Demons” from Seven Arts Pictures combined Zombie Girl, Creature Feature, 45 Grave and more for a scarily popular soundtrack. In fact, it was only released after the movie’s fans demanded it with relentless enthusiasm. This incredibly spooky soundtrack is available at most local music stores, or it can be purchased directly from iTunes. Don’t deafen your guests: Although dancing is a non-negotiable necessity for good parties, we can’t ignore the minglers who thrive off stimulating conversation. Keep the volume cranked in one room and turn it down in another. The quieter music keeps the ghoulish festivity alive without killing all possible conversation. Do add some flair by offering spooky cocktails: Nuclear Waste, Vampire’s Kiss and Green Goblin are tasty choices. Or, increase the creep factor on your favorite drink with simple food coloring and use eyeball or fingernail gummies instead of lemon wedges and olives. Don’t spend extravagantly: Since adult beverages and food can add up, save money on decorations. Food coloring really is a blessing. Old white sheets and red food coloring create a gory, blood-spattered corner or table display. Keep lights turned low, or throw dark-colored scarves and pillow cases over your lampshades for a shadowy setting. Candles also provide an eerie element to any room.

Got Fright? Kids’ Halloween Party Ideas

Looking for a fun - and safe - way to celebrate Halloween with your children? Try throwing a Halloween party, loaded with lots of fun games! There’s no better way to celebrate Halloween than throwing a party for your children and their friends! But how will you keep them busy? Try some of these classic Halloween party games - or invent a few of your own! These are great ideas for classroom use as well.

WRAP THE MUMMY

PUMPKIN PENNY TOSS

Divide the children into groups of three to five kids. Select one child in each group to be a mummy. Then give the other children a roll of toilet paper or crepe paper. Have them wrap the mummy with the paper, leaving the eyes, nose and mouth uncovered. The first group to finish (using the entire roll of paper) wins.

Carve out a large pumpkin, leaving a wide opening at the top (or use a plastic pumpkin). Give each child a handful of pennies. Have them stand an appropriate distance from the pumpkin and try to toss the pennies in, one at a time. For each penny that makes it in, give the child a piece of Halloween candy or other small treat.

PASS THE PUMPKIN

GHOST WAITER

This game is very similar to "hot potato". Have the kids sit on the floor in a circle. Give them a small pumpkin to pass around.

Prior to the party, set up a simple obstacle course. Divide the children into two or three teams. Taking turns , each child has to balance a balloon on a paper plate while walking it down the obstacle course and back to their team. (Have one child from each team begin at the same time). The first team to have all members complete the obstacle course wins.

Play Halloween music as they pass the pumpkin. Stop the music at irregular intervals, and whoever is holding the pumpkin is out. The game continues until one person is left with the pumpkin.

PIN THE NOSE ON THE PUMPKIN Make a large cardboard pumpkin and secure it to a wall. Taking turns, blindfold each child and give them a cutout shape of a nose, prepared with double-side tape on the back. Spin the blindfolded child three times, then have them try to pin the nose on the pumpkin.

Get your child's Halloween party started (at home or at school) with these classic games – and get ready for everyone involved to have a howling good time!

High on Horror — Why We Pay Big Bucks to Be Scared

(NewsUSA) – We crave chills. It’s why we get a rush when we see Jason take his axe to some unsuspecting teen in "Friday the 13th" or why we can’t seem to look away when Carrie, dripping with pig’s blood, incinerates her entire highschool class. While mesmerizing, to be sure, the real question is: why do we pay for the pleasure of being scared? On this, there are various schools of thought. Some believe that fans of horror (be it movies or books) don’t actually experience fear, but are excited instead, while others believe that people are willing to endure the terror because they know there is no real threat, that they are essentially safe. Still others feel that moviegoers are willing to be scared in order to feel a sense of euphoric relief at the end.Whatever the reason, movie studios like Seven Arts Pictures, a Los Angeles-based indie movie production company, are counting on customers who are willing to pay to be petrified, by releasing a horror flick like "Night of the Demons."

In the movie, three friends attend a party held in a mansion where, years prior, six people disappeared and the owner hung herself."We think that people have a morbid fascination with the dark side," said Peter Hoffman, CEO of Seven Arts. "So even though a horror movie might be illogical on an intellectual level, people still like to be uncomfortable on an emotional level. It’s about people facing their fears," he added. Which makes sense and explains why many of us have (reluctantly) stuck our hand down the garbage disposal, just waiting for our fingers to brush up against something (or, perhaps, for the machine to turn on by itself, shredding the hand inside ? la Stephen King), or why we might refuse to put our leg out of the covers at night. This, too, is why we keep creepy haunted houses busy at Halloween, why we tell ghost stories around the campfire and why we turn out for horror movies like they were giving away free popcorn. It’s because we like it.For more information, visit www.7artspictures.com.

Cosmetologist’s Consult

Using Hair Fashion COLOR for Special Occasions

E

specially over the last 5 years we have seen a trend in hair color for fashion colors. Fashion colors are any color that is not normally found in virgin hair; hair that has not been previously colored. We have been coloring our hair since the time of the Egyptians but color has come alone way. Eugene Schueller, the founder of L’Oreal is recognized for creating the first synthetic hair dye in 1907(Wikipedia). Both men and women were interested in color to hide gray hair. What is unusual to me is that lots of people want grey hair. Many celebrities and younger people are now lightening their hair and toning their hair grey. Even as a cosmetologist and salon owner with over 20 years of experience this is odd to me. I myself used to color my hair half blonde and half black back in the day. A lot of cosmetologists are known for changing their hair color often; that’s what we do. Celebrities as well as everyday people want to push the envelope and wear the full color spectrum. Fashion colors are fun whether you want to wear a color for a special occasion or you want to have a fun color to wear every day. There are a wide range of fashion colors products that can be used. For the individual that wants a fashion color that washes out with one wash; they can use a hair chalking product. Hair chalking can come in a product that looks similar to a piece of chalk or in liquid form.

These can be used on wet or dry hair depending on the manufactures directions. I have used Gypsy Stix brand before; these will show up on even dark hair. The thing you need to keep in mind is that if you have light hair and it is very dry, I mean lacking in moisture very porous it can hold that chalking longer than one wash. I have clients that will book a chalking appointment when they are going to a special event; it’s a lot of fun! For clients that want to wear fashion colors for everyday I may have to lighten their hair depending on what shade they want to go with. The consultation portion of the appointment is very important when going with fashion colors. I take into consideration skin tone, what the client’s hair color history is, and always of course how to keep hair health and achieve what my client wants. I use many different techniques to achieve amazing fashion colors for my clients. A lot of people will do their own hair at home but if you want to have amazing, healthy, fashion colored hair, I recommend getting it done by a professional cosmetologist/artist. A really popular trend now is candy colored hair. I am really enjoying this new fashion hair color trend. Fashion colors were first associated with the punk trends, but no more. Fashion colors are going couture. I recently colored my hair blue and now I am sporting purple and pink hair. It looks a lot like cotton candy. It’s been really fun.

This fashion trend is not for everyone but for those of us that like to express ourselves with color it is one big party!

Scary Halloween Masks THIS HALLOWEEN MAKEUP IDEA IS A RECIPE FOR HORROR

Searching for a scary Halloween mask? This Halloween makeup idea is not for the faint-hearted! This gruesome brew is for those who love the horror of HELL-oween. If you are nifty enough, Granny’s goodies could turn you into this! What Lies in Granny’s “Crypt”-ic Cupboard? Searching for a scary Halloween mask? This Halloween makeup idea is not for the faint-hearted! This gruesome brew is for those who love the horror of HELL-oween. If you are nifty enough, Granny’s goodies could turn you into this!

The base of this Halloween makeup design is plain gelatin and strawberry jam. Remember, although this recipe sounds ghoulishly delicious, it’s not to be eaten!Follow directions on the gelatin box, adding the proper ratio of boiling water to plain gelatin. To this, add about 1/3 ratio of glycerine to your mixture. (Glycerine is available in most pharmacies.) The glycerine will prevent the gelatin from cracking and give you ghoulish lasting power. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil and simmer for five minutes. When it starts to cool, skim off the milky froth that floats to the top. Clear gelatin is all that should remain. Pour part of the gelatin mixture into a cup that you will work from. You can reheat the remaining mixture on the stove or just microwave the cup you are working with, as the mixture will cool and become difficult to work with. Take your artist’s spatula and put a small amount of gelatin on the back of your wrist to test the temperature. The mixture should be warm and fluid, but not uncomfortably hot to the skin. Now apply the gelatin to the face as if you were icing a cake. Purposely do some sections of your subject’s face thicker than others to develop different textures and levels.

The gelatin will want to drip sometimes, so catch these drips with the tip of your spatula and change their direction so they don’t set. Do one layer, let it dry and proceed with the next layer. As each layer gets tacky, use the tip of the spatula to create nooks and crevices. After 3 to 5 layers have been completed, you can create small holes to look like open, rotting wounds! (For those of you that are completely grossed by this Halloween mask, stick to lip gloss!) Take the tip of your artist’s spatula and carefully dig a little hole through the layers until you arrive at the skin. You must be careful not to scratch the skin for obvious reasons – it hurts. A pair of cuticle scissors will help snip away small parts of gelatin to create large craters. Now fill the small holes and craters with strawberry jam (no tasting) and let the jam bleed slightly out of the wound…..Yum! Ghouls in training may take this scary Halloween mask a step further by darkening the eyes with red, purple and black eye shadows. A grey and blue eye pencil will give a gorgeously ghastly color to the mouth. And remember, no nibbling on the jam , just on your victims!

Trick or Treat: Planning for a Unique Halloween

Before we start collecting coupons and calculating the budget for Christmas, how about saving for Halloween? The occasion is celebrated only for one day but every parent or event organizer will tell you that there are plenty of preparations and expenses needed to throw a successful Halloween party. We are all a few months away from Christmas, but before we start collecting coupons and calculating the budget for that, how about we allocate some funds for Halloween? Yes, the occasion is celebrated only for one day –October 31– but every parent or event organizer will tell you that there are plenty of preparations and expenses needed to throw a successful Halloween party: costumes, party supplies, trick-or-treat ideas, food, Jack-O-Lanterns. But it is possible to save time and money for Halloween. Let’s start with costumes. Some schools like to celebrate Halloween and ask students to show up on that day in the most creative or most frightening costumes they can think of. Some neighborhoods make it a tradition to celebrate the same way. If you don’t want your child’s self-esteem reeling badly from Halloween costume criticism, then assist him or her in selecting which ones will work, and which ones they will be confident enough to wear: a Superman impersonation? Voldemort? It doesn’t have to be scary; they can be dressed up as, say, Cinderella, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, or a Star Wars character. There are plenty of online stores Buycostumes.com and Halloweencostumes4u.com that offer customized, highly-detailed, and yet affordable costumes – and most of them also offer coupons so that you can save money on your costume purchase. Even better, make your own costume!

As for party supplies and decorations, don’t worry. It’s not as bad a logistical nightmare as you think, but only if you plan properly. Before making a decision on anything, research on possible suppliers, food and drinks caterers, candy makers, souvenir stores, and party decorators to make your Halloween a truly unique fright fest. Again, there are a number of all-in-one merchants which you will find online that can offer you their products, services, and coupons at a very affordable price. One of them is Shindigz.com. But be creative, not expensive. Learn the recipe for candy apples, or toffee, instead of buying them ready-made from a store. Also, you can search for a spooky song to serve as soundtrack for your party. You can put up fake cobwebs on your front door and in the corners of your living room ceiling, and “Trick or Treat” banners to cover up the real cobwebs.

As for trick-or-treat, you can make use of an empty pillow case for your child to use instead of buying an unnecessary bag. If you are going to spend on anything, just be sure that you get the best value in making your house a haunted one (even if just for a day). It would also help make a memorable Halloween if you actually participate in the festivities. Don’t just let your children have a grand time; make it even grander by joining them. Organize party games and give away cheap novelty items – like bobbleheads, snow globes, and horror books – as prizes for the winners. You can make a small bonfire in your backyard garden for a horror story telling session. You can rent a classic horror film DVD and gather the whole family for a night of movie viewing. As long as your active effort is there (and you use coupons to ease your budget constraints) , then there’s no need to be scared of Halloween preparations.

PLAN A HALLOWEEN PARTY

they’ll never forget!

Why not have a Halloween party for adults and children this year. Find ideas for Halloween Party invitations, games, activities, creepy food suggestions and manyHalloween Party kids crafts ideas and projects to turn your house into a haunted house and to entertain your guest on that spooky night. Have you noticed that Halloween isn’t just for kids anymore? It can be a great night for the whole family and particularly if you want an alternative to trick-or-treating. Throwing a Halloween Party is a sure fire way to get both adults and kids excited about Halloween.

Halloween party invitations are very important. They are the best way to get your guests excited about the party. Send out some great hand made Halloween party invitations, it will get the kids involved, and you can be sure your party will stick in people’s minds. Two weeks in advance is the best time to send them. Let them know there will be prizes for the best costume or scariest pumpkin (more about this later *) • Create a cute ghost card using your kid’s footprint. Use some black construction paper and fold it in half. Have your child dip his/her foot into white paint and stamp the card with the footprint. Let your cards try. With a black marker a face to your ghost. Write a message with a gold pen inside your card. • Use some of our printable Halloween invitations and write your message with a shaky hand, then wrap it in a little cob webbing and enclose little black plastic spiders for extra creepiness.

Create the spooky ambiance Halloween is famous for. Hairy spiders in webs in ceilings and corners is the classic but here are some other decorating tips:

• Cover tables with black table cloths and decorate with pumpkin cutouts and pumpkin garlands (you can get a pattern to make it yourself) Cover sofas and chairs with white sheets. • Light essential passageways to the toilets or the bar with inexpensive rope lights but try to keep general lighting to a minimum, substituting black or red light bulbs. • Have a pumpkin contest (announcing it in your invitation). * Ask your guests to bring their carved pumpkins to the party and you will have some of the best decorations delivered to your door. Make a pumpkin patch. Put some boxes on a table to get different heights for display, draping dark fabric over them. Add some real vines of leaves or green ribbons for contrast and of course use tea lights to illuminate. This could also be a good place for your snacks. • Roll up orange napkins with black cutlery inside placing it inside a bat napkin holder. • Place rows of tombstones with the names of your guests leading up to your door. Use decorated cardboard or cereal boxes.

• You can also hang Halloween lights around your front door and use a fog machine to welcome your guests (available at party rental stores)

Games and Activities can really make all the difference and they encourage people to mix. Don’t forget to have lots of prizes on hand. • Create a Halloween photo backdrop for everyone to get a picture taken. • Have an area where kids can create their own frame for their photo. • Have a dance contest to the Monster Mash song. • Have a Halloween Lotto giving out prizes of miniature candy bars or party favors. • Rent Halloween videos for later in the evening. When it comes to food and refreshments, it’s hard to know where to start. Serving chips and dips in black plastic cauldrons or floating a rubber hand in the punch bowl are just the beginning. There are many sites with great Halloween resources. Halloween isn't just ghosts , witches and monsters or about candy or costumes. Halloween is a perfect time for spending time with family and friends. Having a Halloween party offers plenty of easy and interesting decorating projects and activities for kids as well as for adults.

Great Ideas for Decorating Your Halloween Party Black and orange streamers are okay. Having a jack-o-lantern out front is just fine. When you are planning a Halloween party, though, make the party decorations more elaborate and give your guests a bash they will really remember!

Some decorating ideas for your next Halloween get-together: Tombstones are always a big hit for decorations. For every guest that sent in an RSVP, make a tombstone with their name on it. It doesn't have to be made from anything fancy, either. Cardboard painted gray will work just fine! For an extra impact, add funny little poems on the headstones telling how the guest died. One common example: "Here lies good ol' Fred. A great big rock fell on his head!"

Spiders, spiders, spiders. Not many kids or adults have a bigger fear than of spiders, but they make great decorations at Halloween. You can buy plastic spiders and webs in large packages and just hang them all over your home. Alternatively, make a large, black spider by filling a black garbage bag with foam or newspaper. Add legs that have been cut out of black poster board or any cardboard painted black. Create your very own "sticky web". Use regular rope and make it into the shape of a web. Cover in many areas with rubber cement.

A game that you play can be a decoration, too: pin the spider on the web! Hang various items from the ceiling. You can hang a witch's broom, several black bats, and even a hangman's noose. Any items you hang should be out of the reach of little ones, if they will be guests at the party.

Use dry ice for a foggy atmosphere! Make sure you use it outside and don't let small children stand in the fog for long. Skeletons, bones and coffins. Use a refrigerator box for a coffin , and go to your local party supply store for lots of cardboard cut out skeletons and bones. There are so many elaborate decorations for a Halloween party. The only limit you will have is your imagination...and your space to put them!

Get a Load of Kids Halloween Crafts Galore!

Next to Christmas, Halloween is one of the mostawaited holidays by kids and adults alike. Here are some kids Halloween crafts if you are planning a Halloween party for children. If you are on the lookout for kids’ Halloween crafts, there are a lot of fun and easy projects that you can have them work on.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! Some of the best and most fun parties I’ve planned have been Halloween parties. There are dozens of great Halloween party ideas. Here’s a few: monster footprints, ghosts, green pumpkins, bobbling ghosts, wicked witch, body parts, icky cobwebs, and many more. People love to dress up in different costumes as ghostly figures and celebrate Halloween with great zeal every year.

Monster Footprints - This is one of the most creative, yet seldom used, Halloween party ideas. Get a big sponge and use a marker to draw the outline of a foot. Use a scissor to cut away the extra sponge. Get a 1/8 inch aluminum pan and fill it with washable paint. Use the sponge as a stamp. Dip it in the paint and stamp these footprints in front of the door, or around the sides of dark, spooky house. Just turn the sponge upside down and you’ve got the other foot.

Ghosts - Crumple a large piece of tissue paper into a ball. Lay out another large piece of tissue paper and place the crumpled ball in the middle. Twist the edges of the tissue paper around the ball. Tie a piece of string around the base of the crumple ball to form the ghost’s neck. Use a marker to give the ghost a scary face. Make a few more and hang them from trees in the yard or from light fixtures or ceiling fans in the house.

Green Pumpkins - Try carving green peppers as jack-o-lanterns. They are small enough that you can make enough for a whole row. Mix it up using red or yellow peppers. Trick-or-treaters will get a delightful fright from the army of creepy faces at your door.

Bobbling Ghosts - For this Halloween party idea, you’ll need some helium filled balloons and a several large pieces of cheesecloth. Place the balloon in the middle of the cloth and tie it off at the bottom with a piece of string or twine. Draw a nasty looking face on the cloth. Make a few of these and place them in a box. When the box is opened the ghosts will fly up and give everyone a fright. Alternately, you can hang them in a window or near a fan and watch them float around in the breeze.

Body parts - Use this great Halloween party idea for a dimly lit room in your house or in your yard. Your friends and trick-or-treaters will be grossed out by a bowl full of body parts. Fill the bowl with slimy hot dogs and cooked spaghetti. Toss in some onions for the eyeballs. Blow up a red balloon with water and spread it with strawberry jam. Instant brains! This Halloween party idea will surely horrify your friends.

Icky cobwebs - You’ll want to dim the lights in the room for this Halloween party idea. Cut some strings and paste them to the ceiling. Before the unsuspecting party-goers enter, wet those strings with water and when people will walk in, slimy strings will brush across their foreheads and scare them.

Crunching bones - Spread out some dried bread and pretzels under a rug. When people will walk on it , it will make noise as if there are bones crunching underneath. Round it out by adding some scary moaning sounds from a sound effects tape.

These Halloween party ideas will definitely make your Halloween a most memorable one.

During your Halloween party this year, you're going to need some fun games to entertain guests - especially if your party guests are under 10! Here are some fun Halloween party games you can use to make your party a hit this year! Every Halloween party needs Halloween party games. A couple games are usually enough to keep your guests entertained. If you over do it and have too many games planned you may actually harm the flow of your party.

5 Cool Halloween

Party Games For Kids

Games should be age appropriate. You should consider the group you are working with. If you are having a child’s party your Halloween party games are going to be fairly short so you will need a few more to keep the attention of your young guests.

B

Some fun games for children’s parties can include a hay maze to get the kids lost in. A few treats along the way to be found like prizes are always a big hit. Your maze can be made with bales of hay or you can have a cornfield maze. Whatever way you plan the maze it is usually a hit with kids.

CScavenger hunting is another great Halloween party game. Kids love these, and so do adults. You can start off with one clue and have your group seek the next clue or you can give them multiple clues at once and really blow their minds.

DMummies are fun at Halloween parties. A fun Halloween party game can include making a mummy with toilet paper or gauze. You can have a contest to see which team can make their member into a mummy faster.

E

Passing the pumpkin under your chin is another fun game. You do not want to use full size pumpkins. In fact, you may want to use an apple instead of a pumpkin. Get your group in a line and everyone clasps their hands behind their own back. The fruit is passed under the chin of the members of the group in a line and hands cannot touch the fruit. The first team to get their pumpkin to the end of the line wins. Of course, if you drop the pumpkin you have to start over.

F

Build a scarecrow, pin the art on the witch, guess the ghost , and bobbing for apples are al fun games to keep your group entertained. Traditional Halloween party games can include pumpkin carving. You can have a contest. This is always a good way to get creative with your party. You can give prizes for many different categories. Whatever party ideas you have let your imagination go wild and modify the game to fit your group. Halloween is a day to be creative and let your hair down. Enjoy it while you can.

Next to Christmas, Halloween is one of the most-awaited holidays by kids and adults alike. For adults, costume parties are the ones that they look forward to. To make trick or treating a much more realistic experience for the kids, they would even decorate their lawns, shops or the front of their houses with spooky décor, much to the children's delight. Now, if you are organizing a party and you already have kids' Halloween party games line up – what's the next thing that you need to do? Naturally, you need to think of the kids' Halloween crafts that you can have them work on. Adults can even join in the fun and do these kids' Halloween craft projects with them.

KIDS' HALLOWEEN CRAFTS, ANY IDEAS? One of the most fun parts in organizing a Halloween party or even just celebrating this holiday is when you are in the process of thinking up the kids' Halloween crafts that you can finish with them. Here are some great ideas for kids' Halloween crafts:

• CREATE ROUND LOLLIPOP GHOSTS. Lollipop ghosts are a great giveaway for all the kids who will go trick or treating on Halloween. You would need sucker-style lollipops – the bigger and rounder the candy, the better. All you need to do is wrap a tissue paper or two, place the round lollipop in the middle and gently gather the material around the head of the lollipop. Use a red yarn or ribbon to make the distinction between the head and the body of the ghost lollipop. Then, you can either glue two movable eyes and draw a 'scared' mouth to form the head of the ghost – or you can just use a marker to draw the entire face of the ghost.

Not only will these make great Halloween decors – they can also be given away to trick-or-treaters.

• CREATE YOUR VERY OWN HALLOWEEN RINGS CRITTERS. You can probably buy ready made rings from toy shops and use them as the base for this project. Have some white glue, pompoms and goggle eyes handy. Divide the kids into pairs of two and make sure that they have enough material to make a ring for themselves. All they need to do is glue the eyes to the pompoms which will serve as the body of the critter. Then, it can either be tied or glued on to the ring securely. These critters can take the shape of spiders, octopuses or an insect complete with antennae.

• CREATE EGG CARTON BATS. You can make one bat out of three egg holder sections by cutting an entire egg carton into four pieces. The middle part of the bat will serve as its head, and two sections on the end will serve as its head. Paint each bat black, allow them to dry and use googly eyes to decorate the head. If you want to, you can even place a string on the head of each bat so that they can be used as hanging decors for your Halloween party. Make sure to prepare these kids' Halloween craft a day or two in advance. These will be a handy decoration for the kids' Halloween party that you plan to hold. The activity of finishing the kids' Halloween crafts will also allow each child's imagination to be used effectively , and the projects are fun and easy to do. Happy Halloween decorating!

Let Your Kids Go Batty This Halloween

Although there really is nothing to fear about bats, and they don’t really attack people to drink their blood nor are they blind, it’s fun to let your imagination run wild, especially around Halloween. The days are growing shorter, the air is crisp, and the leaves are dyingthe perfect conditions to let your kids go batty. This year, forget the ghosts and witches and take a cue from Edgar Allan Poe and plan your Halloween party around these scary black mammals. Find everything you need for a “horror-ble” party that will drive your guests batty, from invitations, to bat crafts, to games.

INVITATIONS: Use a white paint pen to write party details on black batshaped cut-outs. Glue onto orange craft paper and send out to guests.

DECORATIONS: •Set the mood for your party by hanging inverted bats made out of black construction paper from trees or the entrance to your house •Trim the front door with bat decals or cut-outs. Add a banner with a scary saying. •Carve bat shapes into pumpkins and display on the front porch and inside the house. For an extra ghoulish effect, light candles and place inside the pumpkins. •Using black and orange ribbon, hang bat shapes from the ceiling along with black and orange balloons. •Make a bat banner out of construction paper •For your a table center decoration paint a large, bare tree branch black and attaching black construction paper or plastic bats to it. •Spread bat-shaped confetti on tabletops and counters.

BAT HUNT GAME FUN HALLOWEEN ACTIVITY: Hide some toy bats or construction paper bats around the house inside or outside before guest arrive. Give each guest a paper bag and a flashlight and turn off the lights or go outside. Have guests search for the hidden bats. The person who finds the most bats is the winner. Give a small prize to the winner if desired. (Variation: You could have one special bat for guests to find, and the person who finds that bat gets a prize too.)

OWL AND BATS HALLOWEN GAME You will need either some plastic or rubber bats. There should be one less bat than the number of players. For example, if you have 6 players, use 5 bats. Before the game, color or paint a spot on the bottom of each bat. Have children sit in a circle.

Put the bats, marks facing down, on the floor in the middle of the circle. Have children choose one bat. The child without the bat is the "owl." Have the "owl" sit in the middle of the circle. The "owl" points to one child and tries to guess the color of the spot on that child's bat. If the "owl" guesses the correct color, the child with the bat runs around the circle and the "owl" tries to catch him/her before he/she sits down at his/her spot again. If the "owl" catches the child with the bat, he/she will be a bat again. If not, the "bat" takes a turn to be the "owl."

PARTY FAVORS Visit your local party store or discount store, looking for inexpensive bat-related novelties such as key chains, plastic toys, jewelry, etc.

BAT COOKIE DECORATING ACTIVITY/SNACK Let children decorate their own bat-shaped sugar cookies. Set up a table with paper plates, plastic knives, napkins along with sugar cookies cut in bat shapes, different colors of frosting, sprinkles, candy corn, etc.

SNACKS/DRINKS •Ice cupcakes with black and add bat-shaped edible decorations. •Use bat-shaped cookie cutters to make bat sandwiches or pancakes. Using a bat shaped cookie cutter, cut flour tortillas into bat shapes. Lightly brush both sides of each bat shape with oil. Place tortilla shapes on cookie cutter and place in oven. Broil tortilla shapes, flipping chips once when they begin to brown. When brown on both sides, sprinkle lightly with salt or a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. • Bat grog: Combine 2 cups grape juice, 2 cups lemonlime soda, lime sherbet , and lemon sherbet. Chill.

Cool Halloween Games For Kids Of All Ages

So you're throwing a Halloween party this year for your kids, eh? Have you thought about how you're going to entertain your little guests? Here are some cool ideas that will make your party a hit with kids of all ages! Fall is in the air and Halloween not far behind, now is the time to start thinking about the great Halloween games for the kids who will be knocking on your doors. Of course if you are throwing a Halloween party you will want to find not only great games, but also spooky decorations, and icky treats as well. A good selection of games, crafts, and activities will keep the party running smoothly even after the younger goblins have given up the ghosts. A little bit of organization will go a long way towards plenty of games to keep the ghouls and zombies at bay long enough to bring out some smiles and avoid any uncomfortably quiet moments as adults scramble to find something else to entertain the kids. If you have a few backups in mind this can go a long way towards the oh so important skill of buying a little more time. Also be sure to provide prizes for your games. Even boring games will keep a child’s attention a little longer if there is the hope of a prize when all is said and done. It is also vitally important that you choose games that are age appropriate for your party guests. Older children might enjoy games such as ghoul and fright or other scarier Halloween themed games while younger kids might find them too frightening or complicated to consider. Toddlers tend to really love pumpkins so any game with a pumpkin as a theme will generally retain a toddler’s rapt attention.
