My research approaches the different ways in which we have understood the ideas and projects of modern architecture and urbanism in different cities of Latin America.
I strive to approach these situations as they occur on very specific social conditions, where public space is realized as a space of somatization and a catalyst of the credo of modernism. My objective is to arrive to an understanding of the shapes the modernist discourse has taken as it has been assimilated and adapted into the context of local traditions. The resulting discoveries have enabled me so far to produce an output that exposes its contradictions and inconsistencies, hopefully forcing us to provide answers and workarounds that will provide us with new ways to live and imagine contemporary cities.
