Paul and his best friend Babe the ox do everything together. Their favourite thing to do is eat pancakes and their big appetites have made them too big for life on the farm. They decide to follow their stomachs and find their pancake fortune out in the great big world. While on the road, they meet a logger who offers to pay them in pancakes if they work for him. Paul and Babe tromp and stomp across the country with the logger, filling valleys with pancake batter and chasing down pancakes blown away by the wind. But when Babe starts to feel sick from eating too many pancakes, the two realise that maybe home on the farm with its variety of foods is really the best place for them after all.
