ARTS AND CRAFTS MOVEMENT POSTER. Arts and crafts is an international movement in the decorative and fine arts. It advocated a return to wellmade, handcrafted produc ts instead of mass-produced, machine made items, which were a result of industrialsation during the Victorian times.

Williams designs was inspired of nature. His sources were plants themselves, observed in his gardens or on country walks, and also images of plants in 16th-century woodcuts. I made a drawing as an inspiration of his artwork by looking at nature like plants as flowers and leaves.

William Morris was an English textile designer, artist, writer, and socialist associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and the English Arts and Crafts Movement. He was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production.

Walter Groupis Bauhaus Manifesto

The famous painting Swinging by Wassily Kandinsky. The painting has a touch of dynamic mov ement. I like the abstract and geometric shapes it has to it. The colors in particular gave this painting a naturalistic impressiv e appearance.

Swinging Painting 1925

By looking at the paintings mood I could see the emotions the painter had for example looking at the bright part of the painting which could represent the joyful happy mood. The darker parts on the painting gav e it the boldness and fearlessness mood.

This painting manifests the themes of Bauhaus, by looking at the detail of the painting such as the shapes and forms that are used like tringles, circles, squares, rectangles.

The red and blue armchair 1918 Gerrit Rietv eld in 1918 was a craftsman cabinet maker he worked in re-inv enting chairs and other furniture. The red and blue armchair was one of is famous work. It is made with a frame in black dyed beech, with blue seat and red backrest in painted plywood. The lines and the surface are arranged in a v ertical horizontal composition. Its attached together without using any joints. I like the use of bright colours, and I understand that the designer wanted it to look as simple as possible and not complicated. The color scheme used such as red ,yellow, blue and black giv es the armchair a compelling as well as appealing look to it. It manifests the idea of Bauhaus theme the bright colors and black & white somehow interacts with each other.

The contemporary furniture by Eduardo Barorni,The rocking armchair mamulengo 2013,the original Bauhaus the Wassily chair by Marcel Breuer's 1925.

Seagram the glass house The Twentieth century's most iconic building, the glass house Seagram by Richard Kelly, it's a monumental sky scraper built in New York. The building is built around a steel frame that uses large glass walls around the outside, the walls are non structural and are hung from the frame itself. I admire how this building has this simple design but extremely unique aswell, because of how its cov ered with glass as windows and the use of light that improv es people's comfort and productivity. The building manifests the Bauhaus ethos, because of how the architect used shapes within the design itself. He used rectangles and squares around the outside of the building like the walls and windows.

I found Eduardo Baroni armchair remarkable and unique. He brought a new dimensions to the rocking chair. This piece is meant to stand out in any env ironment. I really like the slices of different seizes, and how these slices set v ertically and horizontally and holding together as a whole. The famous chair I compared to this design was the original chair which was a Bauhaus chair by Marcel Breuer's. I like how both armchairs has the same theory which is using one material to create the design. The difference was that the Rocking chair is structured and curved ,wavy designed to bend by using plywood, natural wood. On the other hand Wassily chair is made of steel. The Rocking armchair manifests to create a unique and simple design, it also makes it comfortable and restful for users. Which makes the design unique.

History In 1950, Le Corbusier was commissioned to design a new Catholic church to replace the previous church that had been destroyed during World War II. Corbusier wanted the space to be meditative and reflective in purpose.

FUNCTIONS • We looked at the structure of the building , like what it was made of and which materials were used. The shape and form which was inspired by a crab shell .The materials used such as stone, wood, cast iron, bronze, enamel and glass . • I also made a drawing of the chapelle Notre dame du haut,.

Avant Garde inspired Manifesto. Lets face it architecture and politics somehow belongs together. Politics has the power of developing and improving the society we live in. War forced millions of immigrants and refugees to cross, borders in search of a safer and brighter future. A current political situations that is still going on is The refuges crisis. Architects and designers could respond to it and solve it is to by rising money by building places for refuges and helping immigrants. Politics takes sometimes from people, architects give to people because they will always want a new beginning to people. This is a poster I found on the internet which With politics if anything changes it impacts future was issued by the magazine Avant Garde. It generation. When architects build something it also is poster with a call for international poster impacts future generation. completion based on the theme "No more War". This poster inspired me to look more into Looking for solutions dealing with architectural the meaning behind it. I then chose to write aspects of the current refugees crisis .Architects and create a poster based on War and the could respond to the situation by raising funds to refugees. create a sense of welcoming, safe spaces for immigrants & Refugees, to build a better environment for them. They also could rebuild places or develop them for people. If there's anyone moral obligation to provide safe, affordable, and sustainable shelter, it's most definitely architects.

The action points that could be a manifesto or call to action are to : • Volunteer • Raising money. • Donate. • Building accommodation. • Re-building/Developing buildings for refuges.

I hav e created my own poster which was related to refugee crisis and how children get affected by war. They are confronted with physical harm,v iolence, danger ,fear and loss. My poster shows a powerful meaning behind it, and I wanted to focus on refugee children because they need a protective env ironment.
