CASK ALES Here at hops we are immensely proud of the range of cask ales that we stock. We currently have six real ales available. One is our exclusive house beer and five are ever changing guest ales. We don’t deal with big wholesalers and order all of our cask direct from the breweries themselves. We’ve always aimed to highlight locally brewed ales and are always keen to stock as many quality real ales from our region as possible but we also source great real ales from all over the British Isles. For details of our latest guest ales, please see the chalkboards or ask at the bar.
BOTTLED BEERS We’ve always had a big emphasis on bottled beer here at Hops, in fact we currently stock well over 150 and the list grows on an almost weekly basis. Although we endeavour to stock all of the listed bottles all of the time, the seasonal nature of some brews and the logistical nightmare of shipping beers half way around the world occasionally leads to a shortfall which we apologise for. Please find a supplement sheet at the back of this guide containing new and seasonal ales not yet covered in this main list. If there are any bottled beers that you love but we don’t yet stock, then give us a shout and we’ll see what we can do.

Dispensed straight from the barrel in the cellar, ‘real’, ‘craft’ or ‘farmhouse’ ciders and perries are still, unfiltered, and produced using traditional methods. U RED T S V Condorito – Chile – Merlot Deep red in colour, this fruity Merlot has intense aromas of plum and cherry, with hints of cinnamon spice and chocolate. It is balanced on the palate with velvety smooth tannins and flavours of ripe plums. Dry River – Australia – Shiraz This wine has a purple-red colour. On the nose there’s mocha, vanilla and red ripe fruit. In the mouth, it is soft gentle and persistent, with a touch of pepper, spice and oodles of lush fruit, all wrapped up in some soft tannins.
S WHITE T U V Founder’s Stone – Chile – Sauvignon Blanc A light, fresh and crisp dry white wine with hints of citrus and gooseberry on the palate and a crisp fruity finish. Dudley’s Stone – South Africa – Chenin Blanc Light straw in colour with sumptuous aromas of peach and ripe melon. These characteristics are echoed on the palate where they are perfectly balanced with a zingy citrus freshness. Cielo – Italy – Pinot Grigio Straw yellow with hints of green, this light and delicate wine presents a nose of green apple and a fresh palate with notes of apricot, citrus fruit and a hint of spice. The finish is crisp and refined. Dry River – Australia –Chardonnay Ripe and aromatic pear with a touch of fresh peach, fresh in the mouth becoming fuller and peachier, perfectly concentrated fruit flavour but balanced by crisp acidity.
