70 km away from the center of Athens, in the southern suburbs of the capital, you will find one of the most charming monuments of the country “The Temple of Poseidon”.
It is situated at Cape Sounion, on a breathtaking location overlooking the Greek Deep Blue Sea from above.
The temple was built exactly the same period as the Parthenon and it is made of local marble. If you decide taking a day trip to the site, combine it with a swim at the nearby beach and visit the monument later on, in order to enjoy the most amazing sunset.
