Every day, the administrative team, teachers, and support staff of Gibbs High School are working to fulfill our mission to foster cooperative relationships within our school community and create a collaborative environment in which all students graduate. The success of our students is our primary focus. Providing high quality instruction and developing a culture of care and concern will be the key ingredients for the success of all students on our campus. CHECK OUT PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS

Parents requesting early check out of their student should call the school at 727-893-5452 ext. 2000 for the student to get a permit to leave slip. If you come in, please understand that we do need time to get your student for you. It is important that we check driver’s license of anyone picking up your student early from school. Anyone picking up a student should be on the students Focus record. This is done to ensure the safety of the student. After 1:25 pm there will be no student dismissals from school.

The Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs is a nationally recognized magnet program for the performing and visual arts PCCA trains students interested in pursuing an arts profession and instills an appreciation for the arts in those who choose other careers Designed as a four-year course of study each arts area has its own course offerings designed to hone their skills and train them for their careers As a college preparatory program, a plan is implemented to secure scholarships and is an integral part of the experience Colleges, universities, and conservatories visit to audition and recruit students The PCCA Class of 2022 earned over 3 3 million dollars in scholarships

Gibbs High School s Business Entrepreneurial Technology Academy (BETA) is a magnet program specializing in the areas and Business and Technology Our scholars graduate with one or more Industry Certifications in their respective pathways BETA scholars participate in FBLA competitions and always place in district, state, and national rallies Many BETA scholars graduate as members of the National Technical Honor Society, among other accomplishments in academics business and technology

➤ To be eligible to receive one of the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Awards, students must complete either volunteer service hours or paid work hours.

➤ Senior fees cover the cost of the following: cap, gown, tassel, medallion, diploma cover, programs, venue, security, flowers, and trophies presented at graduation.

GRAD BASH:

➤ Friday, April 11, 2025, at Universal Studios, Orlando, FL

➤ We will depart for Universal Studios on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 4:00 pm and return to school at approximately 4:30 am on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

➤ Tickets for Grad Bash will be on sale Monday, January 20, 2025

➤ IN ORDER TO ATTEND GRAD BASH, YOU MUST HAVE NO LEVEL II DISCIPLINE REFERRALS AND HAVE AN ATTENDANCE RATE OF 80% OR HIGHER

➤ Senior Dues must be paid in full, BETA/ PCCA dues must be paid in full, have no outstanding textbook/library/device obligations, you must be on-track, and the BLUE CLEARANCE FORM MUST BE COMPLETED before a ticket can be purchased

GHS ASSESSMENT CALENDAR ABSENCES

If you are absent from school, a doctor’s note, phone call or written excuse (from the parent) is required to be submitted to GibbsHS.Absence@ pcsb.org. Absences should be for the following reasons: student illness/injury, death in family, family emergency, medical appointments and religious holiday/instruction.

STUDENT PARKING

Students must complete this form and pay the $10 fee prior to parking on campus.

All students who drive on campus must have a hanging parking permit in their vehicle. Student parking permits can be purchased for $10 from Ms. Gilbert in the magnet office.

All students are required to park in the 31st Street lot. Students who are enrolled in a dual enrollment classes at St. Petersburg College or Pinellas Technical College are permitted to park in the 34th Street lot in the spaces closest to the football field with a special permit. Parking in the 31st Street is on a first come first serve basis.
