Testing
Testing is a year-long process. Consider a feature article in every issue that assists parents in helping their students improve preparation and testing skills. Provide access to district, state, and national testing resources that support parents and students by offering practice tests and study assistance. Getting ready for high stakes assessment exams is more important than knowing the schedule. Standardized testing can be a topic of controversy. Explaining testing policies, how tests are used, how they help the learner, how they impact grades, promotion, level of courses, etc., and the positive benefits to all concerned can go a long way toward mitigating objections.
