PROJECTS

01 ÀGORA

This project located in the small village of Navajas, in the interior of Castellón, aims to be a place where every citizen can expand its creativity and also a building to preserve Navajas’ history and culture. A polifunctional building for the people.

Placed on a hillside offering privileged views of the Palancia River valley, this multifunctional center is embedded into the plot in such a way that it achieves full integration with the surrounding landscape, while also aiming to be a building that takes advantage of all available resources to be bioclimatically conditioned.

The initial idea is to revive the concept of the plaza, deeply connected to Mediterranean culture, and recreate it at the center of the building to provide both an outdoor and indoor cultural gathering space, which complement each other in some way.

Its program is quite diverse, with several multifunctional rooms that are hybrid in terms of their use. In general, the building is divided into three blocks based on their function, but they are interconnected through a walkway. Broadly speaking, one block is dedicated to music, another to reading, and the third to administration. Together, these three blocks create a semi-enclosed space resembling an inner courtyard or plaza.

02 EDIFICI

HORITZÓ

The project aims to serve as an excuse to revalue a point in Navajas (Castellón) with a lot of landscape and cultural power, currently degraded. Therefore, the maximum use of the plot is sought, always taking care and observing the surroundings.

Thus, with this premise, a scattered form is explored, more akin to a carpet building. An stepped form is created to take advantage of the slope as a point in favor to make the building appear lower than it really is, hiding a floor within it. In addition, the pyramidal shape refers to the surroundings of Navaixes, the mountains, and the valleys. Likewise, this height graduation combined with the successive setbacks of the volume ensures that all the dwellings have views of the Palància River valley.

03 MÒDUL 3\3

Mòdul 3\3 is a residential complex of low density located at the intersection between Serreria’s axis and Avinguda de Blasco Ibáñez.

These are two linear blocks that adapt to the shape of the plot. One maintains the perpendicularity, while the other completely adapts to the diagonal marked by the axis. To do this, all typologies are modulated with 3.3 x 3.3 m cubes, which form a grid between them. On the perpendicular block, this is orthogonal. However, on the diagonal block, the modules are adapted to the middle of their distance, thus creating a series of holes that help to ventilate and illuminate the building.

As for services, the building is self-sufficient in terms of electricity and food since there are a series of gardens located on the ground floor On the terrace, we also find the laundry and other common facilities.

Nested on the vibrant shores of Valencia, a beacon of hope and community emerges near the historic Cabanyal district—a visionary project in social housing. Here, amidst the colorful streets and rich cultural tapestry, stands a new architectural testament to inclusivity and progress.

This project is more than an assembly of homes; it’s a sanctuary for diverse families and individuals seeking affordable, secure, and dignified living spaces. With careful consideration for sustainability and community integration, the design fosters a sense of belonging and togetherness. Shared spaces encourage interaction and communal bonds.

05 PANORAMA RESTAURANT

PANORAMA

The Panorama building is a project by Janfri & Ranchal Studio. Located in the Valencia Marina and near Les Arenes Beach in the Mediterranean Sea.

The building is characterized by its headquarters, functional organization, and spatial organization. Accessing the building by a wide walk that gives place to two vertical communications: stairwells and a ramp.

The restaurant has a large room closed for eating, from which you can see some magnificent views of the sea through the giant glass windows. In addition, it also stands out for the two terraces to enjoy the outdoors.

However, it is a fluid space, horizontal and continuous, that stands out by its cared-for structure and provides a very radical aesthetic, as do the other port buildings that surround it.
