A message from ACCA’s President

This yearbook provides an insight into the class of 2016 as you embark on your careers and reveals the diversity of roles and ambitions that you and your peers have I am delighted to welcome you into our worldwide membership of 188,000 members. During 2016 we will welcome 174 members from across Wales into our global family! It was a pleasure to speak with so many of you at our Celebrating Membership event at Cardiff’s Hilton Hotel. Everyone connected with ACCA was struck by the tremendous sense of pride that the many family and friends there took in our new members’ achievements. This yearbook is a memento of what you have achieved. It provides an insight into the class of 2016 as you embark on your careers and reveals the diversity of roles and ambitions that you and your peers have.

ACCA never stands still. We recently announced a bold and exciting new alliance between ACCA and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) that will cement our position as the most-forward thinking and influential global accountancy body. We have launched a ground-breaking piece of research, Professional Accountants – The Future, which cuts straight to the heart of the future challenges and opportunities facing the accountancy profession. You have joined our membership at a very exciting time. We rely on our member voices to shape ACCA’s future and the more we hear from you, the more effective and representative we can be as a membership body. A message from the Head of ACCA Wales

On behalf of my colleagues, I offer our congratulations on becoming a member of ACCA and joining a vibrant community of over 2500 ACCA finance professionals here in Wales. As your local office, we focus on building relationships which develop ACCA’s presence across Wales for the benefit of members, students and other stakeholders. We are proud of how our members develop and lead the finance agenda across Wales, within leading practices to private sector businesses such as Admiral Insurance and Legal and General, as well as the Welsh Government and the NHS. You have worked hard to achieve membership. Now, being an active

We focus on building relationships which develop ACCA’s presence across Wales for the benefit of members, students and other stakeholders member can help you advance your career. Our CPD events programme is one of our most popular resources and will help you further develop your technical skills. Our three regional members’ networks open up valuable networking opportunities which will help you develop new relationships and advance your career. On a national level we bring together leading members of the business community. In July over 300 guests joined us at Swansea’s Liberty Stadium where world-renowned rugby referee Nigel Owens was joined by current internationals Dan Biggar and Rhys Webb for a fantastic evening of insight from the world of rugby. We would love to meet you at one of our events and what better opportunity than to attend our national conference

and dinner on 1 December, which will be addressed by both cabinet secretary for economy and infrastructure Ken Skates AM and Wales’ football manager Chris Coleman?
