Corinth Science Department Retesting Policy If you do not receive a passing grade on a unit test you have the option of a retest, this provides a way to boost your original grade to a passing grade of 65. You are eligible for this option only if you receive a test score below 65. Below is an outline of the policy and how it works. 1. You will need to look over your test, notes and determine what portions of the test that caused you the most difficulty. Make note of this—and what specific questions you have in regards to these topics. 2. Schedule a time with your teacher to meet and get assistance with the things you struggled with. Do this ASAP, it must be done before the end of the marking period in most cases. 3. Schedule a time to re-‐take an assessment –this will only be on the parts of topics of the test you struggled with. Typically this will be a shorter test than the original one you took. 4. Spend time on your own studying for the re-‐test. 5. A passing grade on the retest will then convert your original test grade to a 65. *If you do not get a passing grade on the re-‐test you must begin at step 1 again if you wish to try again for a passing grade. All re-‐testing is at the discretion of the teacher. You must begin this process with your teacher as soon as possible once you have received a failing test grade, as these must be completed by the end of the marking period.
