CHILDREN AT NAVAN Lots to discover for little ones… • • • •
Become a Celtic warrior by dressing in Celtic costume and donning your warrior face paint. Complete the Navan Ecology trail and receive a prize at the end. Enjoy the Archaeology Discovery Room and play in the outdoor activity area on the massive Wolfhound play piece. Bring archaeology to life by digging in the archeo-pit and see what you can unearth!
Activities are available daily from April to September and are included in your admission cost.
CHILDREN’S GROUP ACTIVITIES
Be transformed into a Celt with costume and face paint, make your own Celtic craft and attend the training school of the Red Branch Knights at our Iron Age dwelling, where you will learn the skills required for battle! EXPLORE THE GROUNDS and see some of our residents! Follow the Ecology trail and keep your eyes open for the living willow structure, Rosie the hedgehog and the bug hotel and see what lives inside! Learn about the diversity of wildlife on our doorstep and watch the birds nesting and squirrels feeding. For those intrepid explorers who can find all the answers to our Ecology quest, return to reception to receive your prize! The archaeology of the area comes to life via our interactive indoor and outdoor hands-on experience in the Archaeology Discovery Space.

Celtic Spirituality is understood by some to be Ireland’s ‘indigenous’ approach to the spiritual! Drawing on ancient mythology, Celtic Spirituality brings to life the sacred landscape and our relationship with the natural world. An ‘Introduction to themes of Celtic Spirituality’ can be experienced by groups, including Pilgrimage groups and can be booked by contacting the Navan Centre.
