twenty track album. The album is going to be aptly called ‘We’ll Meet Again’ which features their version of the Vera Lynn classic, as well as many other new recordings and also some original songs.

Annie dreams of being reunited with her parents and takes action to find them. The show includes the popular songs ‘It’s The Hard-Knock Life’, ‘Easy Street’, ‘N.Y.C.’ and the ever-optimistic ‘Tomorrow’. Annie Junior is a fabulous show performed by DFK’s talented and vibrant young performers aged 5 to 17. The orphanage was founded by Stella Saxby, whose parents were killed in a car crash, leaving her an orphan, all alone with her Awful Auntie. And when we say awful, we mean awful!

Aunt Alberta and her best friend Wagner, a vicious Bavarian owl, tried everything they could to torment Stella into signing over the deed to

Saxby Hall. But Stella, with the help of her friend Soot [the ghost of a chimney sweep, but friends come in all shapes and sizes, don’t they?], fought off Aunt Alberta, saved Saxby Hall, and gifted the beautiful Saxby Hall to be used as an orphanage.

‘Awful Auntie’ by David Walliams is a truly thrilling tale. Owls, ghosts, chases, escapes, motorcycle rides, and tiddlywinks all fill Stella’s days as she evades her menacing Aunt and saves the family home.

Recommended for age 7+. Please note this event will take place outdoors at the Palace Garden, Palace Demesne, Armagh. We encourage you to dress accordingly. BROUHAHA: ARDAL O’HANLON IN CONVERSATION WITH WILLIAM CRAWLEY Wed 27 July I 8.30pm I £12.00 Ardal O’Hanlon, an award-winning actor equally comfortable on stage and screen, is also an accomplished stand-up comedian, documentary film-maker and writer. He is probably best known for his iconic portrayal of Father Dougal Maguire in the hit television series, ‘Father Ted’, and for his role as Detective Jack Mooney in ‘Death in Paradise’.

Ardal’s best-selling debut novel, ‘The Talk of the Town’, was published to critical acclaim and features in the influential ‘1001 Books to Read Before You Die’. His witty, violent and darkly comic new novel, ‘Brouhaha’, is a razor-sharp portrayal of small-town Ireland and the secrets it keeps. A mystery, a black comedy, a satire on Ireland’s tangled politics of memory, ‘Brouhaha’ is set in a small town on the Irish border during the uneasy transition to peace.

A musical narrative telling the life story of Mary Ann McCracken, social reformer and unsung heroine of the 1798 Rising.

Local folk-singers and broadcasters, Jane Cassidy and Maurice Leyden, present a dramatic account of Mary Ann’s life and times, weaving letters and historical detail with related folk-songs, bringing both to life. Accomplished singers and broadcasters, Jane and Maurice narrate, sing, play guitar and keyboard. First performed at the Belfast Folk Festival in the 1980s, the play was such a success that Jane and Maurice have been performing it regularly in arts venues ever since, such is the appeal of Mary Ann’s story and the beautiful folk songs which illuminate it.

Created & Performed by Darina Gallagher and Sinead Murphy A wonderful new Joycean musical, ‘Misses Liffey’ gives us an insight into the female voices within Joyce’s writing and a picture of Dublin in full song from the comic ballad, folk song, music hall, opera and sea shanties.

Anna Livia Plurabelle, the female personification of the River Liffey, brings us on her journey from little cloud, through the city of Dublin and out into Dublin Bay. Anna introduces us to many of Joyce’s women that live, work, sing, long and laugh along her banks. We hear from Nuvoletta and the Washerwomen in Finnegans Wake, the Morkan Sisters and Eveline from Dubliners and the siren barmaids and the seaside girls in Ulysses. The river finally bids us farewell as she meets her cold, mad father - the sea, only to fin again, begin again.

Join textile artist Caóilfíonn Murphy O’Hanlon who will guide you through the calm meditative process of designing and creating a beautiful Spring wet felted wool painting. Using a blend of wet felting and stitch, you will explore some nuno techniques with different blends of delicate wools, silks and stitch. Be it a rendition of your favourite flowers, or beautiful country landscape, you can bring your own image to use as a guide to create your unique piece of artwork.

Caóilfíonn will demonstrate a range of embroidery stitches and knot thread work so you can embellish your landscape further.

If you are interested in making your own handmade soap using only natural ingredients with natural fragrances, then this hands-on workshop is for you. Tutors, Pamela Mawhinney and Irene Gourley from local business Naturally Soap, will teach you the ancient craft of soap making using the traditional cold process method. The basic skills taught in this workshop will enable you to go home and make your own soap with ease.

NO REGRETS DAVID BURKE 4 June - 16 July | Foyer Walls Born in 1972 in West Dublin, David Burke studied music from a young age and could draw from as early as he can recollect. Leaving college a year into his studies, David headed off on tour playing music for the next ten years.

He returned to art in his early 40’s when he truly fell in love with painting and drawing all over again. A simple twist of fate saw his work being shown to a family member who went on to persuade him to make art a full-time profession.

Burke has had numerous exhibitions and his work has been sold across the world. His current exhibition ‘No Regrets’, features paintings, drawings, photography and mixed media of both new works and older works from his collection.

THE NIGHT-TIME ADVENTURE OF MOONDUST & SUNDANCE GERALDINE HAMOONGA MICHELO 25 July - 3 Sept | Foyer Walls When Moondust finds Sundance lost and unable to find their way home, the two small spirits set out on an epic adventure coming face to face with trolls, goblins, and even a unicorn! Getting lost as a child herself, Geraldine explores her love of nature, folklore and fantasy. The exhibition uses a range and traditional watercolour and digital illustrations to explore the wonders of a child’s imagination.

Geraldine Hamoonga Michelo is a Northern Ireland based illustrator who specializes in watercolour and gouache paintings, blending realism with abstract and surreal art styles. She was born in Zambia and lived just outside the rural town of Kabwe in the middle of nowhere.

Her earliest memories were of playing outdoors with her siblings in the abundant orchard on the family farm, soaking up the warm sun.

BY GARETH REID 25 July - 3 Sept 2022 | Gallery This collection of recent paintings marks Gareth’s first solo show in Northern Ireland for 10 years. Gareth’s new work sees him step away from his well known portraiture work to explore new subjects and styles of painting.

Gareth Reid was born in Belfast and currently lives and works in Glasgow.

He is a graduate of the University of Ulster, Glasgow School of Art and the Florence Academy of Art. He is a life drawing and portraiture tutor | visiting lecturer. He gives talks about his works at the National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh and the National Portrait Gallery, London. His work has been published by the NPG. He has shown on five occasions at the BP Portrait Award in the National Portrait Gallery in London, and in 2007 won the BP Travel Award. In 2017, he won Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year, painting Graham Norton for the National Gallery of Ireland. In 2019, Historic Royal Palaces commissioned a portrait of HRH Prince of Wales for Hillsborough Castle.

His work is held in the collections of RBS, Ralph Lauren, The Old Bailey, Rotunda Hospital, The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland, The Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Historic Royal Palaces, The Royal Collection and the National Gallery of Ireland.

As part of the John Hewitt International Summer School 2022, Gareth Reid has been invited to give a talk about his portraiture work. This will take place on Tuesday 26 July at 5pm. Booking essential.
