Certificate 15
Written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge [Fleabag, Killing Eve] and directed by Vicky Jones, Fleabag is a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life. Following a box-office record-breaking run in cinemas in 2019, the one-woman show returns to the big screen.
Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose.
The hilarious, award-winning play that inspired the BBC’s hit TV series Fleabag, was filmed live on stage in London’s West End in 2019.
Presented by DryWrite, Soho Theatre and Annapurna Theatre.
May contain strong language and adult themes.

MOYA BRENNAN, CLANNADMOVING ON MUSIC PRESENTS TRÚ
Fri 8 Sept | 8.00pm | £15.00
The trú was a mythological trio of poet-musicians who were revered throughout the Celtic world. Some believed their songs and stories came to them from the future while others maintained that the trú were possessed by spirits during performance. As such, they were considered gatekeepers to the Otherworld. It’s here where trio TRÚ draw their inspiration.
Michael Mormecha [percussion/vox],
Zachary Trouton [guitars/vox] and
Dónal Kearney [flute/vox] come from different musical backgrounds.
The three are children of the Peace Agreement in post-conflict Northern Ireland. From their British-Ukrainian, Ulster-Scots and Irish heritage, they have inherited an unusual and fruitful ethos based on respect and exploration. Despite their individuality and an eclectic repertoire of influences from Clannad to Nine Inch Nails via Joni Mitchell and The Beatles, the trio’s collective chemistry is enchanting audiences with powerful storytelling and noteworthy songcraft. These are stories told with a contemporary voice. There is nothing traditional about TRÚ except the songs themselves.

RBG TRIO
Fri 22 Sept | 8.00pm | £15.00 £5.00 [students]

The trio’s repertoire ranges from the traditional saxophone trio canons of Sonny Rollins and Joe Henderson, to more contemporary and improvised output.
It is an approach where free-form exploration rubs shoulders with reimagined music from the likes of Nirvana and Soundgarden.
Ultimately, nothing is off limits. It is a band led by tunes – mainstream or lesser known, self-penned or reinterpreted, traditional or contemporary. If it works, it works. Additionally, each member of The RBG Trio composes for the band, which lends to the trio’s diverse output and constant surprise.

NEWPOINT PLAYERS PRESENTS THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN
Thurs 5 Oct | 8.00pm | £15.00 £13.00 [conc]
Set in a small Irish island in the 1930s where cow-gazing counts as a legitimate pastime, Martin McDonagh’s ‘The Cripple of Inishmaan’ is a hilarious dark comedy that asks questions and exposes discrimination at the most basic level.
Cripple Billy with his bad arm and leg, wishes and waits for love but hasn’t even been kissed. The action in the play is reported by Johnnypateenmike, whose mother believes him to be “the most boring oul fec--- in Ireland!”. Johnnypateen the island ‘gossip’, thrives on any newsfrom sheep with no ears to the smallest of
incidents, even a goose biting a cat’s tail, which is an incident that Johnny pateen hopes will turn into a feud sparking gleeful gossip that he could trade throughout the island.
However, when director Robert J. Flaherty films his classic documentary ‘Man of Aran’ on the nearby island, the community, dazzled by the prospect of appearing in a Hollywood “fill-um,” is understandably excited. “Cripple” Billy Claven sees this as his best chance to escape from an existence of constant ridicule and abuse.

NOSFERATU WITH LIVE MUSIC
Fri 6 Oct | 8.00pm | £12.00 | Certificate PG
Nosferatu [1922] is arguably the film that gave birth to the horror genre. Notable as the first cinematic interpretation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, its combination of expressionistic acting and unforgettable images render it just as powerful and unsettling today as when it first thrilled cinemagoers 100 years ago.
The screening will be accompanied by Chris Green’s new score which was commissioned by English Heritage for a live outdoor screening of the film at Dracula’s spiritual home of Whitby Abbey. The music is a haunting blend of electronic and acoustic instruments performed live by the composer and, combined with FW Murnau’s iconic images, makes for a genuinely remarkable and unique cinematic experience.
Born into a musical family in Coventry, Chris Green began playing guitar at the age of eight and piano from the age of nine, and plays most things with fretted strings or keys. Largely self-taught, he’s worked in a variety of musical genres including folk, theatre and early music. He’s a regular musician at Shakespeare’s Globe and was also one of the musicians on BBC’s Poldark.
This event takes place in our Studio Theatre with an unreserved, tiered seating layout.

WOOD TURNED SMOKING SNOWMAN & CHRISTMAS TREE
Fri 15 & Sat 16 Dec [2-day workshop] | 10.00am - 4.00pm | £80.00

During the two days, the emphasis will be on accuracy and fitting of components together. Two projects will be completed, a smoking snowman and a Christmas tree. Each participant will have the use of a lathe and safety equipment will be provided. Tools will be available, but participants are encouraged to bring their own tools. A Pro-edge sharpening system will be available throughout the two days. FFRIDD (THE MIDDLE GROUND)VITTORIO CIREFICE
Fri 8 Sept - Sat 4 Nov | Foyer Walls
Taking inspiration from the revolutionary work of 18th century local landscape painters, like Thomas Jones and Edward Pugh, who ventured to the tops of hills to paint from life, thereby paving the way for the likes of Turner and Constable. Vittorio Cirefice’s practice is hugely influenced by living and working the land and painting from life.
“FFRIDD is Welsh for the rough ground between mountain and lowland, often considered ‘less favoured areas’ in Ireland. However, it is this under-appreciated ground where my love of working with, and painting ponies was born. Today my work reflects over 50 years of my special connection with the land I work, paint and live in”.
RETROSPECTIVE SCAPESCOLIN HEYBURN
Fri 10 Nov - Sat 6 Jan 2024 | Gallery
Retrospective Scapes is an exhibition by Armachian photographer, Colin Heyburn. The work is a deeply personal perspective through the medium of landscape photography. An experienced and successful editorial photographer, Heyburn has reinvented himself by completing a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Photography at Belfast Art College.
This current show is an eclectic mix of work, all locally-centric, spanning the period from his early youthful years right through to the present.
SHEUGHS & DITCHESROZZI KENNEDY
Fri 10 Nov - Sat 6 Jan 2024 | Foyer Walls
The colloquial Scottish | Irish word Sheugh in English is a ditch - a gully on a boundary used to drain a field. Then, rather than waste a good word, ditch is repurposed elsewhere within the landscape to describe a raised bank. This economical outlook is highlighted by a farmer’s use of a pallet to block a gap in a ditch in the painting, Mind the Gap. Language is a key influence on Rozzi’s practice as she visually interprets her environmental and psychological frontiers.
With thanks to Newry, Mourne & Down District Council’s Tyrone Guthrie residency award in support for this project.
