System Overview StruM.I.S estimating is an enquiry and steel estimating tool designed specifically to meet the needs of estimators in the steelwork fabrication industry. It enables users to process and manage information throughout the tendering process using a number of pricing methodologies. StruM.I.S estimating is for Estimators, QS and Commercial Managers involved in the detailing of accurate tenders for steelwork fabrication. StruM.I.S is an all encompassing steel fabrication management information system that harnesses the information flow and work processes through the steelwork contract between departments, suppliers and clients; from estimate tendering, through procurement and production into construction. StruM.I.S system modules include Enquiries and Estimating, Customers and Sales, Items and Inventory Control, Purchasing and Suppliers, Contracts Management, QS Analysis, Production Control and Document Management.

Accurate Estimates StruM.I.S estimating is a standalone (or integrated into StruM.I.S) steel estimating tool which ensures a process based approach to tendering for contracts. The features and benefits of the system include: Some of the features of StruM.I.S estimating:
Enquiries - customer enquiries can be recorded and then assigned to Estimators for tender purposes within the StruM.I.S structural steel estimating system. Estimate- – the core estimating module provides fast and reliable tenders to be produced using the data rich steel section library for various pricing methodologies. CAD Interfaces - allows the material requirements list to be imported from systems including design and steel detailing/ BIM authoring tools as well as MicrosoftŽ Excel. Cost Additions - steel calculation based cost extras, which can be defined or selected from default libraries for use on all steel estimates. Labor database - the labor database can be used by the steelwork Estimator to bring an increased level of accuracy to rate/tonne or hour/tonne fabrication labor calculations. Standard Fittings - within StruM.I.S estimating it is possible to predefine parametric fittings that will automatically scale themselves according to the members they are attached to. Waste Calculator - the Auto-Cut system within StruM.I.S estimating is an automated steel nesting/optimization software tool that calculates the most efficient way of cutting the requirements list from available material lengths.
