Flickers of Opulence

S

o many talented artists add

to the Flickr Opulent Magazine group on a daily basis. We like to highlight those creators and provide a forum to showcase their work. For every edition we study the group looking for pics that best demonstrate our issue’s theme. We have selected Yin & Yang this time and although not an easy theme, if you use your imagination you’ll see that these artists have captured that feel.

For this picture, I took inspiration from a nocturne dream, as often it happens for a large part of my works. In realizing it I wanted to represent the great potential of our imagination, we are able to realize anything we wish if we learn to know the right way to do it.

For example, drawing a dreamy image with Photoshop you can show your emotions and ideas and finally you can feel really free. This is the theme of this picture: find the right instruments and everything will be possible.

Wicca Merlin  Black & White I wanted to do a black and white head shot for a long time, but never found the right hair and skin or clothing. I’ve been addicted to black & white pictures for a long time because the great contrast shows off a lot of power and also that no colors are needed to make an atmosphere.

Lita Menges  Patty This picture is an Advertisment for Angel Dessous by Nando Korobase, his creations are continual sources of inspiration for me. I wanted to create an image where the two sides of same coin were in harmony with each other, black for the seduction and sensuality with the whiteness of innocence. The balance between the powers, without prevarication of day and night, light and shadow.

Cala Rossini  A Moment in Time My inspiration for the picture is a mixture of the pose, which I had made a while ago, and I had just been listening to the song “Set the Fire to the Third Bar” by Snow. It summed up completely feelings I often have about my closest SL relationships.

Wistful Mactavish  Won’t You Come Out and Play I saw eyes looking at me and felt if I were truly the curious fae, I would wish for whoever or whatever calls a tree home to come out and play.

Burk Bode  Ensueño My inspiration for the picture is the announcement of the closing of the Cuba Emvee sim in combination with some first ideas for a topic for a contest group. I made some experiments about the topics “sleep” and “dream” and that I love flamenco, of course.

Eves Rodenberger  Wild Horses Since Eves was a child she started to take pictures trying to capture what is around her. This developed into a passion expressing herself through the work and trying to tell stories with her pictures. Most fascinating is to capture scenes and moments that give a special and unique touch to the works. Playing with light, shadow and colors, create works full of emotion, fantasy and touching the soul.

Josie Anderton   Japanese Sunset I had been helping Hadji Ling and Veronika Garzo to make a machinima at the Hosoi Ichiba Sims. The sims are beautiful, as is the Japanese culture we researched for the machinima. I was waiting to do some more shooting one day and went wandering off to explore. I then started to try different light settings and angles and spent a happy hour capturing what I hoped would be a good representation of the sim and the mood I felt I had created with the light settings
