The head of state is Queen Elizabeth II, who holds the title of Lord of Mann. The Lord of Mann is represented by a Lieutenant Governor. The island is not part of the United Kingdom, but its foreign relations and defence are the responsibility of the UK Government. THE INTERNATIONAL ISLE OF MAN TT (TOURIST TROPHY) RACE IS A MOTORCYCLE RACING EVENT HELD ON THE ISLE OF MAN AND WAS FOR MANY YEARS THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS MOTORCYCLE RACE IN THE WORLD. The event was part of the FIM Motorcycle Grand Prix World Championship during the period 1949–1976 before being transferred to the United Kingdom after safety concerns and run by the FIM as the British Grand Prix for the 1977 season. The Isle of Man TT Races became part of the TT Formula 1 Championship during the period 1977–1990 to preserve the event’s racing status. From 1989 the racing has been developed by the Isle of Man Department of Tourism as the Isle of Man TT Festival.

The race is run in a time-trial format on public roads closed for racing by the provisions of an Act of Tynwald (the parliament of the Isle of Man). The first race was held on Tuesday 28 May 1907 and was called the International Auto-Cycle Tourist Trophy.[1] The event was organised by the Auto-Cycle Club over 10 laps of the St John’s Short Course of 15 miles 1,470 yards for road-legal touring motorcycles with exhaust silencers, saddles, pedals and mud-guards.

HIGHLANDER ACERBIS AC2 - Air Clima Comfort

HIGHLANDER IS SITUATED BETWEEN THE 5TH MILESTONE AND 6TH MILESTONE ROADSIDE MARKERS ON THE SNAEFELL MOUNTAIN COURSE USED FOR THE ISLE OF MAN TT RACES ON THE PRIMARY A1 DOUGLAS TO PEEL ROAD IN THE PARISH OF MAROWN IN THE ISLE OF MAN. The Highlander, a site of a former coaching station and now a private restaurant, is situated in the main Douglas to Peel central valley, the River Dhoo and the former Douglas to Peel railway line runs parallel to the primary A1 main road. The nearby area is mainly farmland with the nearby summits of Greeba Mountain (422 m) Cronk Breck (245 m), Cronk-ny-Moghlane (189 m) and Slieau Ruy (479 m). The area is dominated by the nearby St. Trinian’s Church (‘Keeill Brisht’) built as a chantry in the 14th century for the Priory of Ninian of Whithorn from a previous 12th century building on the site. The chapel fell into disrepair by the 17th century and is associated with the many tales of The Buggane of St. Trinian’s and the Highlander tailor who wagered that he could sew a coat sleeve in the haunted church.

SNAEFELL

SNAEFELL IS THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN and the only summit higher

than 2,000 feet (610 m) on the Isle of Man, at 620 metres (2,034 ft) above sea level. The summit is crowned by a train station, cafe, and several communications masts.

CLYPSE COURSE THE CLYPSE COURSE DESCRIBES A MOTORCYCLE RACING COURSE USED FOR THE ISLE OF MAN TT RACES BETWEEN 1954 AND 1959. The course is 10.92

miles (17.63 km) long and is in the parish of Onchan in the Isle of Man. The course uses two short sections of the Snaefell Mountain Course which includes the primary A18 road between Cronkny-Mona and Creg-ny-Baa used in the reverse direction. Also, the primary A18 Mountain Road between Signpost Corner and Governor’s Bridge. The highest point of the course is 261 metres above sea level at Ballacarrooin Hill (Ordnance Survey Map SC 406 827 GB Grid.) The name Clypse is probably a contraction from the Scandinavian word Kleppsstar (Kleppr’s farm) which gives the modern name of Clypse Beg and Clypse Mooar.

HIGHLANDER THE HIGHLANDER WAS PART OF THE FOUR INCH COURSE USED FOR THE TOURIST TROPHY AUTOMOBILE CAR RACES HELD IN THE ISLE OF MAN BETWEEN 1905 AND 1922. Also, the Highlander was part of the

course used for 1905 International Motor-Cycle Cup Races held in the Isle of Man. It is part of the Snaefell Mountain Course used since 1911 for the Isle of Man TT and from 1923 for the Manx Grand Prix Races. A series of major safety revisions and alterations to the Snaefell Mountain Course during the winter of 1953/54 in the Isle of Man. This included the road widening and reprofiling by the Isle of Man Highway Board on the A1 road between Crosby and Greeba Castle. This including the Highlander and its nearby jump and the road jump adjacent to the nearby Ballagarraghyn Cottages were removed for the 1954 Isle of Man TT Races. During the 1954 Senior TT the motor-cycle competitor, Simon Sandys-Winsch a Corporal with the RAF crashed fatally at the Highlander while riding a 350cc Velocette in heavy rain and poor road conditions.

This unique active regulation ventilation, uses a air injector front and rear air extractors. This system is placed in the strategic areas allowing air to enter from the front and escape from the rear. This creates an internal air circulation system that keeps the temperature constant, eliminating heat and humidity. Questo sistema unico di ventilazione attivo, utilizza degli iniettori d’aria anteriori e degli estrattori d’aria posteriori. Shoulder and elbow protector’s offers an innovative design, developed in CAD area, to increase the security features, limiting the weight but guaranteeing exceptional comfort. • HEXA The upper is made of a protection system (HPS Honeycomb Protection System) that provides excellent shock absorption qualities, and simultaneously is extremely flexible and lightweight (only 95gr shoulder, 105gr elbows). The inside is padded thermoformed PE Bio. The shoulders are protections metric axes. All the guards have a microfiber lining to the jacket and are connected by velcro inserts to ensure an optimizing comfortable fit. La parte superiore delle protezioni è realizzata con il sistema HPS (Honeycomb Protection System) che garantisce ottime doti di assorbimento degli urti,e contemporaneamente risulta estremamente flessibile e leggero (spalle solo 95gr, gomiti 105gr). La parte interna è imbottitura termoformata Bio PE. Le protezioni spalle sono asimmetriche. Tutte le protezioni hanno un rivestimento in microfibra e sono collegate alla giacca tramite degli inserti in velcro per garantire una microregolazione della posizione ottimizzando il confort e la vestibilità.
