The Residency Directors Forum, co-hosted by ACFAS and the Council of Teaching Hospitals (COTH), focused on optimizing resident review and oversight. The agenda included topics such as the assessment of residents' clinical competence, evaluation tools, and ensuring that residents meet the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) requirements. Attendees were also able to discuss current challenges and opportunities related to residency education.

Once again we had a record breaking attendance with diverse topics on residency education and training. We were pleased to, once again, have CPME as an active participant of our Residency Program Director to assist our attendees on new residency education standards. LOS ANGELES CONVENTION CENTER directors where they listened and learned best practices in education from their fellow residency directors.” Roya Miraman, DPM, FACFAS noted, reflecting the positive feedback from attendees. “The Residency Director Forum is not only a platform for an annual reunion among our top leaders in foot and ankle surgical education, but it brings strong collaboration and engagement among our program directors.”

Residents Day, sponsored in part by an unrestricted educational grant from Organogenesis, provided information to help residents navigate the transition from residency to practice. This event provided an opportunity for residents to network with other professionals and gain insights from experienced surgeons. The day included discussions on job searching, contract negotiation, and other topics relevant to transitioning into practice. Residents Day was well-attended, and participants were enthusiastic about the knowledge they gained.
