Year 11 ERA

Thinking back about the wonderful times in our advisory class this school year, we are proud of how each student experienced significant growth in various aspects of their lives The students’ self-confidence and independence grew as they adjusted to the challenges, and navigated through the demanding coursework in the first year of the IB Diploma Programme. On Tuesdays and Thursdays during advisory times, the Y12 students worked diligently on their CAS, and on Monday’s and Friday’s they enjoyed twenty minutes of free time, while our prefects were attending StuCo meetings. When we introduced PhoneFree Wednesday, it was interesting to see how our students had to resist the - constant temptation to reach for their phone and how they would often grab it without even noticing it. Over time, students gradually adapted to no phones on Wednesday and experienced the positive effects of being more present in the moment. It is beautiful to see that because of the shared experiences, mutual support, and both advisory classes in one classroom the entire year, the Y12 students have formed strong bonds and developed close friendships The highlight of the year for our advisory class was the field trip to the Mangroves, where we went kayaking and had great fun planting mangroves in the mud. :)
