WHY YOU NEED SEC TRAINING IN PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY

Recently a new computer system was implemented in the Emergency Departments that is an extension of SCM (Sunrise Clinical Manager). The system is called SEC (Sunrise Emergency Care). All Residents and Clerks must complete the training sessions prior to their first ER shift. Without the training you will be unable to do things like sign-up for patients, see lab results, etc.

Prerequisite: You must have completed the SCM training (Sunrise Clinical Manager) before registering for SEC training. The information on how to access SCM training was emailed to you by Stephanie Weldon from the Medical Education Office, Medical Affairs, Alberta Health Services.

Setting up SEC Training: The instructions on how to go about setting up SEC training are attached.

Important: The on-line training must be completed prior to your first shift and must be done on a AHS computer. If you are not from Calgary, you can take the beginning of your shift to train for it providing you already have your SCM training.

The Access office is not automatically notified once a user has completed the training. The physician/resident/clinical clerk would need to contact our office at 403-943-6840 to gain access once their training has been completed. If it is after hours they can also contact the Solution Centre 310-3111. They would also use the above numbers to schedule training.

2. Also review the attached SEC training with regards to the training.
