A Clothes Mind was a vendor at the Kurvee event on Sunday April 10th, 2011. Kurvee is the premiere Shopping & Beauty Experience for Kurvee Fashionistas. The event was filled with great shopping, beauty treatments, dessert sampling, and giveaways. It was a girl’s day out perfect for all women ages 16 and up. The atmosphere felt more like a Sunday afternoon gathering among girlfriends, sharing laughter, beauty secrets and to talk about the latest fashion trends. We had an absolute blast and it was a pleasure meeting and networking with so many people at this magnificent event. Visit www.kurvee.com for additional info regarding future events.

Regan Carrington Model/Actress/Songstress Here’s what Regan had to say in our interview with her! What does fashion mean to you? Fashion is really simply an expression of who I am and the many facets that make up me and my personality. I think people are made up of many different qualities and I often use my fashion to express who I am to the core of those many different qualities. In addition to modeling, you are an actress as well, how do you balance the two? Sometimes this can be a challenge. There are times where I have to put modeling on the back burner so to speak because I might have a lot of acting auditions or booked work I need to focus on. I started as actor before pursing modeling, so that career is a little more mature than the modeling. So if I have a busy period acting wise, I try to at least once a week doing something, no matter how small to further the growth of modeling goals. What are some of your accomplishments as a model and/or actress? I've done a few commercials and independent films. I also, just finished up pilot presentation for a TV series. Some of my accomplishments that I am personally proud of are probably less glamorous. I am particularly proud of the moment I earned my theater union card. Being in theater so many years and working countless hours on shows over the years, then you have the moment when it pays off as a professional...it just turns an idea of dream a reality of possible. How has modeling changed other aspects of your life? Well, I have definitely, become more fashion conscious! I grew up doing a lot a theater and being a former dancer I spent a lot of time in "comfortable" clothes...sweats and tank tops. So immediately my shoe collection has grown. As a person it has really helped me to learn to trust myself and my instincts. Sometimes I have tendency to "over think" things. I learned that sometimes the answer just comes from an inside feeling and everything doesn't have to be rocket science. 10

What are some things you dislike/hate about the fashion industry? I am not a fan of "boxes" or putting people in boxes, or types. Anything "cookie cutter" to me is sort of boring. I really don't care to look in a magazine or on the runway and see all the models looking exactly the same. I wish the industry would think outside the box in terms of this. Seems like once in while they break this mold, I wish they would just do it more. Who is your favorite wardrobe inspiration? My mom...ha-ha. But seriously, she's got a funky and loves costumes and vintage inspired clothing like me. I am sure a lot of my personal style come from her. I own a few costume pieces and have made them work for the right event! When did you realize you wanted to become a fashion model and why? Friends had been telling for years that I should try modeling. I sort of resisted it for a while because I really thought of myself as an actor only and didn't feel I was "exotically" beautiful enough to be a model. I thought about it but never really took any steps towards exploring being a model. Then I attended my first "Love Your Body Day" event about three years ago and they had a "real size" fashion show and I was inspired because there was nothing really cookie cutter about it. In fact I found it to be a beautiful experience, because the women up there reminded me a lot of the different representations of the women in my life. I really loved that and thought THAT would be something for me. Almost a year later, I sat next to Chenese Lewis on a plane ride back to LA from a family reunion; I recognized her and asked her all kinds of questions about modeling. The next thing you know I entered myself into the Miss Plus Top Model contest, competed, and here I am. How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements? My friends say I am really friendly, open and bubbly. When I talk to people I really try to listen and really hear and understand what they are trying to communicate. I like to keep a dialog open. I'm a little silly....well a lot silly. I like to laugh and often will keep conversation light. But when it’s time for business....I get down to business. What advice do you have for aspiring fashion models? The advice I would give to anyone in this industry whether as a model or an actor is NEVER Quit! You don't have an expiration date stamped on your forehead! Work hard and do something every day to benefit your career and in its due time it will pay off. Where can readers find out more about you? They can visit my website www.regancarrington.com or my Facebook page www.facebook.com/regancarrington Do you have any upcoming projects or anything you are currently working on or participating in? Working on charity musical revue...getting back to my musical theatre roots and will be singing and dancing to help support a friend’s new theater endeavor. 11
