A warm welcome to Ruben Silva and Wojciech Zawada who joined Acme Bus Co. Ltd. in February as drivers on the 7/7A local bus service. Well done for picking up the routes and ticketer machine operations so quickly. Keep up the good work.

Thank you to everybody who produced their driving licence for checks at the beginning of the month, to make sure you’re up to date, Katy and Jamie will be asking to see them again in May.

Just to Say …

Huge thanks from Takeley Engineering all those whom helped with the workshop Spring Clean. It has made a huge difference.

A polite request from Katey Hügi … please use the bins provided for waste so we can keep the workshop looking this good!

Digi Tacho Driver Cards

All vehicles: Please ensure you have a route code in your vehicle and a timetable for the route you are doing, there should be an A5 booklet already in your vehicle with all the routes and timetables, if you don’t have one of these please request one from Katy at Takeley.

PH Licence Drivers: Please ensure you carry with you your Private Hire licence card and the terms and conditions of your licence. This is a condition and requirement of your licence.

Appearance: For those of you issued with uniform please ensure it is clean, presentable and worn at all times whilst you are working for the company.

Message from Engineering

Widdington News BAD WEATHER PROCEDURES – Special Needs Contracts In the event of bad weather, and if the office has not advised you any differently, please carry out the following procedures: If you do not feel it is safe to carry out your school run because it could put yourselves or your students at risk, please:

Engineering have asked me to thank all those who are already doing so but could we please stress to all to all bus, coach and private hire vehicle drivers …

1) Phone the parents and let them know that you will not be taking or collecting their children to and from school. It is a company policy that if we are unable to take the students to school because of bad weather conditions then we will not collect them from school.

… When you fill your vehicle with fuel please make sure the fuel receipt is given to engineering at Takeley and please try to ensure the recorded mileage is correct, we need this accurate information to monitor miles per gallon for all the vehicle types …

2) Phone the office and let us know you are not doing your run.

VEHICLE DEFECTS – Drivers

If you have a defect on your vehicle please phone the workshop at that time, do not wait until you are about to use the vehicle again. The engineers need time to sort out the problem.

Contracts of Employment Thank you for all those who have already returned your contracts of employment it is greatly appreciated. If you have not done so yet, please can you return your signed copy to the Widdington office.

SMOKERS – Drivers & P/As It is against the law to smoke on any PSV or private hire licenced vehicle. Anyone seen or suspected of smoking on one of our vehicles faces instant dismissal. We would also like to remind you that smoking is not allowed on any school/college premises and if reported may also result in instant dismissal.

Please allow an acceptable distance from your vehicle, if you smoke, to ensure no fumes enter the vehicle.
