The oor plans will show all the partition runs, display each individual panel with it’s part number and show all the required dimensions necessary to lay out the project. The dimensions are always center line unless otherwise stated. This simpliďŹ es the layout process and eliminates the need for you the installer, to remember a group of rules such as what should be added at a tee or corner condition. The plan view will also show a bill of material, which can easily be compared to the quantities on the packing list. In the notes section of the drawings will be the general notes, speciďŹ cations, panel and door legend identiďŹ cation and ďŹ eld conditions.
2. Elevations The elevations will show the dierent panel types used in your installation, such as ush, clerestory, full glass, and doorframes. It will also show the type of glass, door types, ďŹ nishes and all special conditions such as window and/or soďŹƒt conditions. The ceiling height is also displayed

Required Tool List Understanding which tools are required and what function they accomplish is critical to a successful installation. The two most important specialty tools are the PORTABAND SAW and the UNI-SHEAR. There is field cutting required for the ceiling channel, floor track, wall channels and the base. If this task is attempted by hand you will find it time consuming.
The porta-band saw offers the best solution and achieves the required professional results. The end fillers are normally sent at the correct width, however field conditions sometimes require that the filler be cut for width, the only tool that works is the Uni-Shear. All other tools are standard furniture installation tools.

Staging of Material
On any installation the staging of materials is critical to the success of the installation. Panels should always be stored on edge or flat if a clean- carpeted area is available. Care must be taken to protect the finished panels as well as the building walls. We generally use the packing material that the panels are shipped in to accomplish this. The panels are shipped on skids
The long parts Ceiling track, floor track, wall channels and base are nested and wrapped in brown paper with the part description written on the packages. Finish End Cap These parts should always be laid flat, sorted by part description and left in it’s wrapping until they are used. This will reduce the risk of damage or scratching.

Starting the Installation
It is critical to check all the oor plan dimensions against the actual ďŹ eld dimensions to verify that everything will ďŹ t. It is also recommended that the entire oor plan be laid out before any channeling is installed. On larger installations we recommend that individual areas where there are clear brakes between areas be laid out in their entirety.

1
Layout the ceiling We recommend that the ceiling channel be laid out ďŹ rst and follow the ceiling grid; in most cases the ceiling grid is the only visual reference to the ceiling channel, parallel lines will always look aesthetically correct. The drawings will show all dimensions as center line of partition to center line of partition or center line of partition to face of existing building walls.

Installing the Projected Ceiling Channel Projected Ceiling Channel
Step
1
Attaching the Caddy Clip to the grid Attach the caddy clip to the grid on the center line mark that was previously snapped. A caddy clip should be attached on each grid that crosses perpendicular to the ceiling channel. If the ceiling channels align with the center of the grid, place a caddy clip every 2 feet.
! 5/16” dia.
Step
2
Always start with the corner ceiling channel and work out. Repeat this process for each piece of channeling.
Installing the Projected Ceiling Channel ■ Transfer the center dimension of the caddy clips onto the ceiling channel ■ Drill a 5/16” hole into the top of the channel, repeat this for each caddy clip. The clips are generally 24” or 48” on center.

13
Step
3
Installing the Projected Ceiling Channel Attach the ceiling channel to the caddy clip by means of the oversized nut that is provided with the caddy clip.
Tip Step
4
A 3/4 socket on a nut driver makes this process easier
Inserting the Ceiling Channel Splice Insert ceiling splice half way into the ceiling channel.
Step
5
Connect the two lengths of Ceiling Channel Connect the two lengths of ceiling channel where they join with the ceiling channel splice that is provided and screw them together with the self tapping screws that are provided. It will be necessary to cut some of the channeling for length; these cuts should be turned towards the existing building walls wherever possible.
! 14
Inform Installation Guide
Never use a ceiling channel length shorter than 24 It makes for a better-looking job.
4
Installing the Optional Freestanding Cap
The two-piece Freestanding Cap is used to structurally reinforce and trim off the tops of Inform panels when they do not go to the ceiling. The term for this is generally referred to as “ Open Above”. The freestanding cap consists of an inner cap and an outer cap. Like the ceiling channel, there is a welded and mitered corner channel for the inside and outside members.
Step
1
Installing the Inside Freestanding Cap The inside freestanding cap fits snuggly over the top of the panels and will require light tapping with a rubber mallet.
Step
2
Installing the Outside Freestanding Cap The outside freestanding cap fits snuggly over the inside handrail and will require light tapping with a rubber mallet.
v .43
Step
3
Fastening into panel Drill a pilot hole though the two freestanding caps and install the provided selftapping screw through the two freestanding caps and into the top of the panel. This creates a structural attachment between the cap and the top of the panel.
!
Always start at the corner and make sure the joints of the inside and outside cap are staggered at least 24”

5
Installing the Floor Track
The floor track is attached to the carpet by means of non-damaging velcro strips. Floor track that is attaching to tile or concrete is done by means of double face tape.
Step
1
Plumb the center lines on the ceiling down to the floor You now can plumb all the center lines on the ceiling down to the floor using either a plumb bob or a laser. We recommend that you use masking tape to transfer your floor center lines onto; this will ensure that you do not leave any indelible marks on the carpet or floor tile.

Cut the floor track for all the door frames Cut the floor track for all the doorframes as you go. It will be necessary to cut some of the floor track for length where it meets the existing walls and these cuts should be turned toward the building walls. Where the floortrack is cut at the doorframes, the cuts should be turned to the frames.
