2017 Taste of the Pro Football Hall of Fame

A MESSAGE FROM THE CO-CHAIRS Dear Guests, Welcome to Taste of the Pro Football Hall of Fame! The Steering Committee has been working with the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank for a year to organize tonight’s event. It has been a privilege to work with members of our community to support such a worthy cause. We are excited and truly grateful that you have joined us here tonight, and by supporting this event, you have joined the fight to end hunger in our community. Special thanks to all of our generous purveyors who gave their time and talents tonight, along with restaurants, wineries and additional food and beverage providers who donated services and products this evening. We encourage all of you to support these establishments year-round, just as they have supported this event. We would also like to extend our thanks for the generous in-kind and financial support from our numerous sponsors. Additionally, Taste of the Pro Football Hall of Fame could not run smoothly without our team of dedicated volunteers. Thank you! We owe one last special thanks to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Their staff has put in countless hours securing the participation of Hall of Fame Enshrinees and working with the Steering Committee to ensure a successful evening. It has been an immense pleasure to serve as co-chairs a second time for Taste of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Again, thank you for helping the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank tackle hunger in Northeast Ohio. Sincerely, Mark Butterworth

A MESSAGE FROM THE FOODBANK Dear Friends, On behalf of the staff and the Board of Directors of your AkronCanton Regional Foodbank, thank you for spending the evening with us at Taste of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Your support of our mission allows us to continue to end hunger in Northeast Ohio. We would also like to thank the Pro Football Hall of Fame for hosting us at their historic facility, and the Hall of Fame Enshrinees for being a part of tonight’s event. To the 2017 event Co-Chairs, Mark Butterworth and Paul Catania, we would like to acknowledge your steadfast effort overseeing the countless details of tonight’s Taste of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. With your continued support and partnership, your Foodbank helps place approximately 92,000 meals on the tables of Northeast Ohio families that struggle with hunger every day. Our member hunger-relief programs like food pantries, hot meal sites and shelters in our eight-county service area rely on events such as this to ensure that food gets to those who need it most. Tonight every dollar raised will help provide four meals for a hungry child, adult or senior in your community. Your attendance this evening demonstrates your passion and commitment to the cause - and for that we are truly grateful. Thank you for making a difference. Warmest regards, Dan Flowers

GOOD THINGS START WITH A CHALLENGE. Anything that ever got accomplished began with people asking: “What if?” Challenging themselves. Challenging the system. We’re happy to join the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and Taste of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in our tenth year at this wonderful event. It’s a great cause that we love supporting. Here at Meeker, we’ve been family owned and operated for more than thirty years, and we love to show off our wines to our friends from Ohio. Next time you’re in Sonoma County, come see us at our tasting room in the 105-year-old bank in Geyserville. There’ll be blues on the stereo and big reds in your glass, and we promise you’ll taste wines you won’t soon forget. Give us a holler at (707) 431-2148, or come see us at 21035 Geyserville Ave. Geyserville, CA 95441.

$1 = 4 MEALS This is your opportunity to truly make a significant impact in the fight against hunger. For every $1 that is donated, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is able to leverage our resources to turn that dollar into four nutritious meals for someone in need.

A DONATION OF...

$50 will feed a family of four for a month. $100 will mean a child doesn't have to go to

school without breakfast.

$1,000 provides enough healthy produce and

proteins that an elderly couple on a fixed income will go an entire year without worrying where their next meal will come from. This is a 100% tax-deductible contribution that will go to directly serving the needs of hungry men, women and children in the eight Northeast Ohio counties served by the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.

TASTE OF THE NFL While Super Bowl Sunday may be the most exciting day of the football season, for Gervasi Vineyard’s Executive Chef, Jerry Risner and his team, it’s the evening before that will bring excitement and competition. Taste of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, is part of the national Taste of the NFL event. This national event brings world-class cuisine, NFL players, coaches and sports legends to the location of the Super Bowl, while rallying 39 NFL football cities with local food banks and prominent chefs to support the fight to end hunger. Gervasi Vineyard, honorary winner of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank’s local Taste of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will represent the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank at the national Taste of the NFL event. “We are excited to be a part of the 2018 National Taste of the NFL in Minnesota,” said Gervasi Vineyard’s Executive Chef, Jerry Risner. “Our team of chefs put great time and care into making Gervasi Vineyard a truly unique and dynamic culinary destination for foodies and wine enthusiasts in Northeast Ohio. Beyond what we prepare in the kitchen, we also strive to support our community through partnerships and donations.” Each chef who attends the national Taste of the NFL participates by raising donations through their own coordinated fundraisers to benefit their local food bank. Because of this, Gervasi Vineyard is hosting events and engaging our community to raise necessary funds. • In September 2017, during National Hunger Action Month, when you visit one of GV Destinations three restaurants— The Bistro, The Crush House and The Twisted Olive, and donate directly to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Gervasi will match a portion of the donation. • On January 18, 2018, in connection to the Super Bowl, Gervasi is hosting a “Celebrity Chef Tailgate Party” at Gervasi Vineyard featuring David & Colleen Baker and Ted and Linda Swaldo. The funds raised from the event will benefit the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. For more information on these events, please visit gervasivineyard.com. Thank you, Gervasi Vineyard, for your efforts to support families in our community struggling with hunger! We are cheering for you!
