We would like to welcome back our adult and commuter students to the University of Memphis, and extend a warm welcome to the freshmen beginning their studies here. While most students are only just gearing up to get back into action, ACSS is already in full stride. We are excited to be launching a new Online Housing database on Monday September 10, 2007. Feel free to visit our office, located on the

fifth floor of Wilder Tower, to connect with other commuter students and learn how you can get involved. You can also visit our website, www.memphis.edu/acss, to find information on public transportation, local traffic and weather reports, gas prices, and more. We hope you have a great semester! to balance and organize their academic lives with their social, family or professional lives. E: Maybe you could describe some of the services you provide. A: Good idea. We provide students with information on campus and community resources, off campus housing, childcare, referrals transportation, adult scholarships, educational seminars and student events. We can also advocate for the unique issues facing adult and commuter students. Don’t get the wrong idea, though. We’re not all business. We also like it when students come by just to study, use the computers, relax between classes, and connect with other adult or commuter students. We always have a pot of coffee ready. E: Wow, that’s very hospitable of you. A: We know it can be tough trying to balance school life with life outside of school. There are so many issues facing adult and commuter students. We like to do what we can to reduce their stress levels and make their lives easier. Whether its providing information, a service, or just a place to study , relax, and meet people.
