A note from ACt’s Executive Director Despite an uncertain journey over the last 22 months, your commitment to ACT inspired us. Because of your support, we were able to navigate the rules and regulations designed to keep our community safe while delivering on our promise to entertain, educate, and enrich our community by providing a quality theatre experience. During this time, our incredible volunteers continued to serve in many capacities: teaching at our free monthly Youth Wing workshops, sharing new streaming events through Entr’Act, producing our opening show and Christmas shows, and helping with many beautification projects within the theatre. We are excited about the many years ahead of us, no matter what the road ahead brings. We thank you for your continued support whether it is a tax-deductible financial gift, in-kind donation, volunteer time or simply applause. With gratitude and warm wishes,
Kyle A. Seconi Executive Director

someplACe CAlled mAyor’s Income, Tennessee direCtor’s note One of the great joys of directing is surrounding myself with extremely talented people to produce a finished show, knowing that it began as words on a page. As an audience, you see the actors on the stage, but you don’t see the light and sounds designers, the set builders, the costumers, the backstage crew and the many, many hours of rehearsal time. It truly is a process and a team effort. As a director, I get to work with all these people and lead this creative process from empty stage to finished show and back to empty stage, all within a couple of months. Some Place Called Mayor’s Income, Tennessee has been especially fun – and a wonderful challenge - because it is eight shows that come to life. Eight sets, eight casts, eight plots - one stage. It is funny, dramatic, scary and intense. More than anything, though, it’s one hell of a ride. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed putting it together.

The Story A collection of short, episodic plays, each of which can stand on its own, but they’re all tied together by one theme. They’re all set in the same town – some place called Mayor’s Income, Tennessee. It’s a location that you won’t be able to find on any map or your fancy GPS-enabled smart phones. And that’s because it’s a place that doesn’t exist in this reality. The stories are all works of fiction. These characters are not real, and every piece of dialogue they speak are just words on a page. A script written by a playwright. Entertain this thought for a moment: What if every time an author writes a novel, a poet writes a poem, or every time a playwright writes a play, the events created in those stories become very real, set somewhere else in their own reality. A work of fiction to you, but very real in some other place. Some other time.
There will be a 15-minute intermission between Acts 1 and 2. 6

Dustin Turner Dustin Turner (director) is a member of the board of directors for ACT and works for Alison South Marketing Group. An experienced actor, stage manager and director, Dustin has directed Blood Money, Canterbury Tales, Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Rabbit Hole, and others. He loves sharing his theatre hobby with his wife and daughter, who also love to act.
Brandon McVey (Kyle, New Kyle, Lobster Man 2) is ecstatic to be appearing in his second official ACT production. His debut was as Colonel Arbuthnot in Murder on the Orient Express. Brandon also had the opportunity to participate in the workshop “Spare Parts,” put on by the Eclectic Actor’s Studio in ACT’s Bechtel Experimental Theatre. Before these performances, Brandon was an extra in Tyler Perry’s The Oval and Clint Eastwood’s The Mule. He is grateful for everyone who continues to support his passion for acting.
Carolyn McCoy (Amanda, Tina, Jessie) is making her ACT debut with this amazing cast. Thank you, Dustin, for taking a chance! She has been a set dresser for ACT’s Gibson & Sons, Of Mice and Men and Murder on the Orient Express. Special thanks for the encouragement over the years from David Skeen, Bob Franklin, and James Raby. She can’t think of anyone she would rather share her stage debut with than her son, Jeremy. Her other bright star, Meredith, will be in the audience.
Chelsea Glass (Susan, Lana, Christa) came into this process last-minute, but has been so excited to work with and learn from her new cast mates and directing team. She was last seen on the stage a few weeks ago in Something Rotten with the Augusta Players. Most notable recent roles with ACT include Shelby in Steel Magnolias, Corie in Barefoot in the Park, and Elle Woods in Legally Blonde.
Dave Engleman (Narrator) has been in several ACT productions including A Few Good Men, The Merchant of Venice, Frost/Nixon, and Twelfth Night (where he was awarded Best Supporting Actor). Like others, he is happy to be able to provide a local entertainment experience once again. Dave is not only an actor but also a director of several local productions.
Garrett Maroney (Cameron, Jerry) has been in many plays with ACT and Paladin Productions. This is Garrett’s third show at ACT this season. He played Hercule Poirot in the season opener, Murder on the Orient Express and Linus van Pelt in A Charlie Brown Christmas. By day, Garrett is the French teacher at Midland Valley High School. Thanks to everyone who has worked hard to make this production a success, and to Jonathan Cook for writing a wonderful script with twists and turns that keep you guessing, laughing, and get you thinking.
Gina Vitgenos (Paige, Kali, and Grace) had so much fun in the last show that she is back for more. She has been acting all through school with roles such as the Songbird in Once Upon a Mattress, Mrs. Pierce in My Fair Lady, a Phantom in Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Violet in A Charlie Brown Christmas. After graduating high school, she balanced work and various acting classes at the Denver Center of Performing Arts and has also performed and directed performances with her church’s youth theatre group, Forged by Fire.
Jeremy McCoy (Dr. Karlsen, Travis, Lobster Man 1) has been in six shows to date with ACT (though he may have been "transferred" at least once). The shows include It's A Wonderful Life, The Merchant of Venice, and Hunchback of Notre Dame. He is very excited to have the privilege of working with this wonderful cast and to finally share the stage with the actress who taught him everything he knows: his wonderful mother, Carolyn.
Joshua Cloyd
(Randall, Marigold) is making his ACT debut with Some Place Called Mayor's Income, Tennessee. He would like to thank his friends and family for their support.
Ken Hendricks (Daniel, Theodore Janus) has been working with ACT since 2006. He has been seen recently in Murder on the Orient Express as Samuel Ratchett, and as Slim in Of Mice and Men. Ken has four children, three grandchildren, and lives in Aiken with his wonderful wife, Karen.
Matt Hoffman (Jacob, Cupid) was born just outside of Washington, DC but relocated to Los Angeles in 1998 to pursue an acting career. He studied at the Beverly Hills Playhouse alongside friend and actor Jorge Garcia. Some of Matt’s more notable successes include a stint on “The Riches” with Eddie Izard and an appearance in JJ Abrams’ “LOST.” He can currently be seen portraying “Adult Eric” in “Electric Jesus.” Matt played a leading role in Born Losers at The Complex Theater on Santa Monica Boulevard and took a turn as “Officer Krupke” with Stage Kids Theatre Group in Santa Monica. He moved to Aiken three years ago and is thrilled to make his official debut in Some Place Called Mayor's Income, Tennessee.”
Tricia Perea (Anna, Paige, Nica) just performed at ACT as Sally in A Charlie Brown Christmas. Recently, she was Ralphie’s mother in A Christmas Story. Her other ACT shows include Sister Act, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and A Few Good Men. She has appeared in Le Chat Noir’s “Quickies” and performed with Harmony River Chorus in Augusta. Tricia thanks her family for encouraging her artistic endeavors.
Will Lane (Old Kyle, Mark) is 22 years old and from Sumter, South Carolina. Will has been acting since his freshman year of high school. Will has played Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Spuds Idaho in The Tangled Snarl. He also starred in a one-man show for the South Carolina theatre convention. He is excited to be working with Aiken Community Theatre for the first time.
