MONTESSORI AT HOME, 12-15 YEARS

At the age of 12, children enter into a turbulent period that can be beset by existential obstacles. This is also the time when the first high-risk behaviours emerge.

Though not commonly associated with teenagers, Maria Montessori’s approach affords parents a chance to play a key role in supporting their children through this fragile but exciting phase during which they develop into autonomous individuals.

The latest title in the flagship Montessori à la maison series, this guide is the culmination in the educational roadmap developed by Nathalie Petit encompassing a child’s first years to their teenage years. To avoid any temptation to disengage, the book suggests simple and cost-free tools for helping teenagers to become independent while respecting the limits that they are learning to set. The aim is to create, step by step, a safe and trusting environment conducive to the flowering of their personalities and creativity.
