All ages welcome to this free event. There will be over 55 vendors from the nonprofit, health and business communities handing out giveaways and answering your questions! Health Screenings, informational seminars and class demonstrations will also take place at the event. Be one of the first 100 people through the door and receive a special gift. Spring High Tea & Table Decoration Contest Friday, May 15 1:00pm-3:00pm HASC $10 per person Celebrate the spring season with an old fashion High Tea. Decorate a card table (service for four) using your imagination as your guide. You will need a tablecloth, napkins, plates, sugar and creamer, teapot, tea cups, and saucers. Featured Artists Kenneth Aitken Senior Center Rosa Di Zeo Bazzani was born and raised in Italy. At the age of 20 she immigrated and settled in California. The arts are her passion: creating and sewing her own clothing, quilting and for the last eight years-nature photography. Her favorite subjects are local and regional landscapes and wildlife. Learn more about her work at an Artist Talk on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 10:30AM. Hayward Senior Center Patra Rae Nesseth-Steffes will have her photography on display at the Hayward Area Senior Center through May 12, 2015. Patra has been an avid photographer for over 10 years and enjoys photographing nature and people in third world countries. She prefers color over black and white. Patra enjoys photos of faces, expressions and feelings. 5

Senior Scam Stopper Thursday, April 16 1:00PM-3:00PM KCASCC Free Assembly Member Bill Quirk will host a Senior Scam Stopper. This event is held in cooperation with the Contractor’s State License Board and will help consumers learn how to spot common scams and avoid falling prey to them. The seminar will feature a panel of experts from across the state, who will discuss topics including: how to protect oneself from identity theft, how to avoid investment related scams and what to look for and ask about before engaging in home and auto repair contracts.

They have been providing free legal advice to seniors in need for over 20 years. This is a wonderful service and their award is greatly deserved. Please note: Participants taking day van trips should expect to be gone for the duration of the day unless otherwise noted. Day Trips can return after 5pm when the center is closed. Please make sure your ride home is scheduled in advance. Van drivers can not drive you home. Participants must have a way of getting home promptly when we return. Van Trip Procedures: No one, including Senior Center Supporters, are allowed to sign up before the 1st business day of the month that the Expanding Horizons is released. Participants will be able to sign up for only one trip per Center during the first two weeks of the Expanding Horizons release. Put your name and phone number on the waiting list for other trips you are interested in and we will call you after the first two weeks if we have an opening. You must sign up for your desired trip from the Center that the van departs. Non-residents of the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District must pay an additional non-resident fee of $5.00 per trip. Van Trip Refund Procedures: No refunds will be issued if less than 24 hours of notification is received for the day trips. All Van Trip cancellations are subject to a $5.00 service charge and may take up to 21 days to process. In cases, where the Senior Center purchases admission tickets on your behalf, and the ticket company has a no refund policy, we will be unable to issue a refund to you. Motor Coach Refund Procedures: Refunds will be issued only upon the Senior Centers cancellation of a trip or a specific cancellation policy by the Tour Company is in place. If a participant cancels within ten (10) business days of a trip, it will be the responsibility of the said participant to find a replacement or forfeit the refund. All motor coach cancellations made by participants are subject to a $5.00 service charge. Non-residents of the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District must pay an additional fee of $10.00 per coach trip. It is the policy of American Stage Tours to wait no longer than 15 minutes. If a participant is late and the bus has left it is the responsibility of the trip participant to make their own arrangements for the return trip home and it will be at their own cost.
