Black History Month takes place every October and brings together a series of events that celebrate the culture, history and achievements of black and ethnic minority. Living in an amazingly diverse city such as London, it is important to celebrate our diverse cultures and history in order to recognise how far we’ve come.
This month’s edition of NewGen magazine does exactly that. We hear from young people in the borough to gain an understanding of how they perceive Black History Month and what it means to them.
Keeping with the theme of the month, on page 14 we look at influential black leaders in history, their contribution and their styles.
