September saw the start of the Active Change Foundation’s #notinmyname campaign. Many young people from Waltham Forest, the rest of London and the rest of the UK joined forces online to take a stand and support the campaign which went viral. The #notinmyname campaign was created to counter the online propaganda of ISIS and take a stand against the senseless killing of innocent people including UK journalists and aid workers in Syria. The support the campaign has received from around the world has been overwhelming and goes to show that Muslims and non-Muslims are united when it comes to overcoming extremist groups in any form.
